Somewhere in Salem, NH
Then I found this, a childhood favorite....
loved that book as a child, and my children now have a much-read copy (in hardcover, even)... my first exposure to the idea of obsolescence.
I remember seeing that on Captain Kangaroo.
Me too. When I saw it in our used book store I got it for my granddaughter.
My kids loved that one and "Katy and the big snow". If I missed a word my daughter would correct me.
I haven't thought about Mike Mulligan in DECADES !Thanks for the memory...
That was one of my favorite stories as a child. I even had a replica steam shovel to play with. I wonder what happened to it.Thanks for a great memory before my day gets crazy.
I don't think that book was in the house when I was a kid but I do remember the title. We did have a worn hard copy of the Mouse and the Motorcycle. I think it may even be in a box in my house somewhere. Will look next time I move.
I remember seeing that machine when I was a kid..I grew up over in north salem, not far from Mystery Hill.
Awww, what a nice story. Never heard of Mike and Mary Ann before.
That story brings back good memories. I probably could read it better though.
Yard Mary Ann out of the muck.Phil still has some room in the back yard!Jerry
