Ultralight "Bug-Out Bag" / gear recommendations

I came across this video recently and thought it very well made, informative, and practical. If I am home in a SHTF or disaster type situation that is where I will remain. I have never carried a "bug-out" bag because my plan has always been to "bug-in". However, my spouse and I do travel from time to time and have made preparations to assist us in getting home in an emergency situation if at all possible. We have in our vehicles "get home bags" among other things. If you or your spouse travel frequently or commutes a fair distance from home daily, it would be wise to have a similar kit, a plan to reach home or a rally point, and if possible some alternate form of communication (i.e. C.B. or HAM radios, etc.). I am certain this bag would not work for everyone, but it is a good starting point. Naturally, medications, tactical gear, weapons, etc. would be left up to each individual. The video is a little long at app. nineteen  minutes but not a waste like some YouTube videos where idiots like to hear themselves talk. The guy who made it knows his stuff and it is worth the time to watch for obvious reasons.

We Elitist Know What Is Best For You. (this is the follow up to the first letter I received from Dougie's office)

So basically, what DEMORAT Sen. Doug Jones of Alabama is saying to the thousands of constituents in Alabama who wrote or called his office urging him to vote "yes" to confirm Brett Kavanaugh  is "I could care less about what the people in Alabama I represent want" . "You dirt people should accept the fact that I have a magical sense of perception that allowed me to receive special vibrations from Dr. Ford. Therefore I deem her to be credible and courageous despite evidence to the contrary. Besides, you peasants know nothing about our socialist-one world-progressive agenda nor are any of you capable of understanding it".

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for writing to share your thoughts on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.
When Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement earlier this summer, I promised the people of Alabama that I would conduct a thoughtful and thorough independent review of the nominee to replace Justice Kennedy.
President Trump announced Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee to the Court on July 9th, and from that day forward, I have studied Judge Kavanaugh’s record. I have read his speeches, his available writings from his time in the Bush Administration, and his decisions as a Circuit Court judge. I watched his confirmation hearing carefully and had hoped to have the opportunity to meet with him in order to allow him to explain his thinking on a number of important issues. Unfortunately, his schedule did not permit us the occasion to meet.
I have heard from thousands of Alabamians like you who care deeply about this nomination and what it means for our country. These letters and calls came from both supporters and opponents of Judge Kavanaugh, and I appreciated every one of them.
The Kavanaugh nomination process has been flawed from the beginning and incomplete at the end. However, during her testimony, Dr. Ford was credible and courageous. I am concerned about the message that this vote will be sending to our sons and daughters, as well victims of sexual assault. Therefore, I will be voting no on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination.
I encourage the President to start a new list of nominees, investigate the individuals on the list thoroughly, and nominate the individual he believes will best serve the interests of justice. The Supreme Court is too important for this process to be rushed.

Thank you again for writing. Please do not hesitate to do so again if ever I can be of assistance to you or your family.

Sincerely,
Doug Jones
United States Senator

Anybody In North Carolina Noticing This Type Of Scrubbing?

 Guest post by reader MERLIN1246:

Typical Dem BS.  I looked up my district and found my GOP representative (George Holding) has his photo curiously missing (he is the incumbent so photos should be easy to come by). You can see that here......

That genderless, faceless blob in the middle between the two black candidates is my current Congressional representative.

Well, then I thought, maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, so I checked out the Common Cause voting guide for my son's home who lives in a different NC Congressional district.......well, lo and behold, there it is - another missing GOP candidate photo,  as you can see here:

Perhaps it is just some unlikely coincidence......or perhaps it's because despite the claim Common Cause makes about being Non-partisan, it's just another
example of what we already know: When it comes to elections, and just about everything else, Democrats LIE. They DIVIDE. They VILIFY. They mock the very things they falsely claim to be.

If you want to see if "non partisan" Common Cause has erased the photo of the GOP candidate in your own Congressional District in NCC, you can look it up here: http://ncvoterguide.org/contact/

If you bother to do that, please let me know what you find !

I wonder if this information can be used to challenge the 501c status of Common Cause; because the tax-deductible status stimulate donations to this
clearly hyper-partisan outfit..........and that should not be allowed under current campaign finance laws where this can be construed as unreported "in-kind" donations to the Democrat Party,  serious FEC violation

P.S. Below is the phony claim that Common Cause makes at their web site:

Common Cause North Carolina is a Raleigh-based nonprofit and nonpartisan organization dedicated to encouraging citizen participation in democracy.

The 2018 NC Voter Guide is a public service provided by Common Cause North Carolina. For over 15 years, the NC Voter Guide has given voters facts on candidates and elections in North Carolina.
The guide was first launched in 2002 by the NC Center for Voter Education, which merged with Common Cause North Carolina in January of 2015.
The 2018 NC Voter Guide provides information on congressional, legislative, judicial and local elections in North Carolina
