Superb article on cacheing
Sent along by reader "Mr Natural ", thanks.
Caching your Guns for a Civil War
But the techniques discussed apply to all caches. In two parts:
http://weaponsman.com/?p=6597
http://weaponsman.com/?p=29274
Part 1 begins with a bit of philosophy and a passage I find particularly prescient:
"Second, don’t rely on Oathkeepers bluster (another word beginning with “b” also fits). They mean what they say now, but things will be different then. Police will have no problem cracking down on you because (1) most cops will follow any plausibly legitimate authority; (2) human beings are born to rationalize; and (3) you’ll be demonized long before you’re raided. They won’t whack you, they’ll be whacking your indescribably monstrous straw man evil twin."
"Every totalitarian state in history made liberal use of the ordinary cops for its political roundups, and no police element has ever mutinied or walked off the job when faced with that task. For example, the Gestapo and SS did not need to round up the Jews in occupied France: the ordinary French beat cops were glad to do it. None of them was ever punished; they transferred their loyalty seamlessly and unquestionably from the 3rd Republic to Vichy to the occupying power to the 4th Republic. Likewise, the Weimar cops became Nazi cops, who in turn became East or West German cops, and now unified Federal German cops. Hitler? Stalin? Who cares, we can retire at 45 with a good pension, and no one will miss a few Jews."
"Third, don’t expect most people to back you. For every active resister, there are 20 dedicated, clandestine supporters. For every dedicated supporter there are 20 active and open collaborators. You active resisters will be outnumbered 400 to 1 by the Quislings. And even they will be a minority. Most people will hunker down and try not to be involved. The side that pressures them will get their loyalty and compliance — as long as it out pressures its opponents, and as long as the pressure is applied."

Hey, Remember The Great Video Of Captain Clay Higgins Threatening the Scumbags?.... Guess What.....
Here's the video in case you missed it.
Well, he resigned......
The ACLU complained that this video "intimidated" the alleged gang members. Family members believed it put them in danger. The furor that was ignited caused the Sheriff to instruct Captain Higgins to tone down the rhetoric on his CrimeStoppers segments. Captian Higgins felt he could not follow these orders in good conscious and today he resigned from the Sheriff's Department.
MORE HERE.. with his resignation video clip.

Meanwhile In California.. Aloe Vera Causes Cancer.....
Maybe they should start listing things that DON'T cause cancer, that list will be shorter.
There are two very different types of actors in the realm of making our economy tick. Entrepreneurs wake of every day trying to think of new ways to innovate, to expand, and thus create new jobs. Then there are the regulators in Sacramento who wake up every day thinking of new, creative ways to add burdens and barriers to operating your business in California and beyond. Their latest regulatory red alert: Aloe vera.
You read that correctly: Aloe vera. In December of last year, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published its intent to list Aloe vera, whole leave extract to the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer. Despite the widely accepted extensive health benefits of Aloe vera, an unelected regulator in Sacramento can now tell you and all consumers it will cause cancer, even if no cases of cancer from Aloe vera exposure exist.

Practical Power Pot V Re-Charging Cookpot
Brock had a post up about Rucksack Battery Charging Systems last night and I commented on some systems I have been researching for camping, etc. Anyway he put my comment up as a post and I thought I would share the information here.
I have a solar charger that will fully charge in about four hours of sunlight and will retain enough power to charge a cell phone twice. I also have a LED light I can plug into it for some major light if needed. Although it will not charge AA and AAA's it is still a handy device. I have been looking at the thermo generation systems that are powered by a campfire, stove, etc. There are several models available, but this is the one I am leaning towards based on reviews, weight, and function. They can be found a little cheaper on Ebay, etc.
Mississippi's Governor Names April "Confederate Heritage Month"
“Gov. Bryant believes Mississippi’s history deserves study and reflection, no matter how unpleasant or complicated parts of it may be,” Chandler said. “Like the proclamation says, gaining insight from our mistakes and successes will help us move forward.”
