I am struggling to wrap my head around this headline/story:
"Functional Period Panty For Transgender And Gender Non-Conforming People": Auburn Professor boasts "research" on university website
I awoke to this perplexing headline blaring at me from one of my sources for happenings in Alabama state news this morning. I read further. This wasn't a historical research project pertaining to undergarments from some particular period in history. This article was about an Auburn professor, Jia Wu, designing and marketing an article of clothing for the severely confused who have need to simulate the bleeding portion of a woman's menstrual cycle. Besides the obvious human aspect of abnormal behavior, there is the fact that this young lady is a graduate of the University of Beijing. She is here and teaching others. How does a graduate from a Chinese university end up teaching at universities in the United States? How did she receive funding for such a project? Was it taxpayer funded? The article begs more questions than answers. I do not know her the status of her citizenship, but regardless, Jia Wu is spreading a counter-culture ideology and using Auburn University's name to do it. The words of Mr. Lee, my 8th grade Social Studies teacher who was a patriot and veteran of the Cold War stationed in Germany at it's height in those days and who railed against the communist almost daily, came to my mind. Mr. Lee would say of Brezhnev and Mao, "there plan is to destroy us from within". I fail to see the "good" of Wu's work. I expect there will be ramifications from this "news". Auburn is considered to be one of the more "conservative" universities in the country and this is not the norm for the Auburn graduates I have met/known. So, I finished work.
Filled out and submitted my time sheet.
Cracked a beer and suddenly had an interesting thought.

At the time I happened to be listening to my headphones and a perfect song was playing.
I logged into my Terminator T-1000 through skynet and started the interaction politely*
I asked if he would kindly make an animated version of a song if I gave him the lyrics.
We discussed copyright laws and what is permissible and what is not.
The song itself can't be applied, nor can the lyrics. I said that's fine, I don't
want to break and laws or run afoul of law and I didn't want him to get in trouble.
I laughed, he lol'd on the screen, my laptop laughed, smart watch laughed, microwave beeped and
the garage door opened and closed twice! Once we collected ourselves, I politely* asked
him to give me his best offering with a few thoughts of input from yours truly.....
(*politely, so when the shit hit the fan, skynet will know I was always respectful.)

Blog Issues With Sidebar Updating
A few people have commented or emailed noting that the side bar list of
Blogs has not been updated to the most recent post at said site.
I just tried changing some of the settings to see if that would make a difference.
Didn't seem to work.
Has anyone else on blogger had this issue?
Right now, I don't have the time to research so I guess it will remain elusive.

LYNN, Mass. — The Lynn Police Department is changing how officers can access Flock cameras after an audit found a “concerning pattern in searches.”
In fact, many departments are now reviewing how officers are using their own Flock camera systems.
Police Chief Christopher Reddy addressed members of City Council Tuesday night on the policy changes.
It will include conducting mandatory monthly audits, having enhanced access controls, and reducing data retention from 30 days to 7 days.
“We have found this very effective audit assistance tool, and we have used it, and we have demonstrated that we’ll take action and that we’re going to continue to use it and take action. We ran the new tool, we saw the anomalies, we investigated them, and we initiated an internal affairs investigation,” said Chief Reddy.

Homeland Security Agent Charged With Rape, Sodomy, and Incest
Above shown is Kent Blacklidge who faces charges of multiple sexual crimes. At this point there is not a lot of information being released, but reports of a press conference/more details are forthcoming. This, and similar incidents are a biproduct of what we have been dealing with since the .gov overreach known as The Homeland Security Act of 2022. Known predatorial agencies such as DHS would make great subjects for "flock" cameras. Perhaps the American version of the STASI should have been monitoring cats like this rather than spying on and collecting covert data to be potentially used against law-abiding American citizens. Someone that would contemplate and carry out such a heinous crime would not think twice about breaking another "rule" (i.e. thou shall not use flock cameras for personal gain). I wonder if this perp used the Outdoor Prison Camera system to track his victims or if the OPC system was utilized to help "investigate" Mr. Kent Blacklidge before he turned himself in to Spanish Fort, AL authorities. This Is A Tourist Attraction In China...
A description from when it opened in 2024:
The newest of these not-for-the-faint-of-heart structures is called Tianti (“Sky Ladder” in Chinese). It clocks in at 551 feet long (168 meters) and stretches between two cliffs at a height of 5,000 feet, according to Chinese state media.
The attraction is located on Mount Qixing in Zhangjiajie Nature Park, in southwestern China’s Hunan province, an area famous for its complex terrain and diverse landforms.
This particular climbing trail is via ferrata-style, built on the rock wall of a mountain using steel handrails, footrests, tethers and cables to enable people to climb the steep rock walls.

If this kind of stuff is going on in Alabama, I would assume larger urban areas have higher concentrations of the OPCs (Outdoor Prison Cameras). I live in a remote area or as some say, "in the woods". I'd never dream there was a traffic/flock/opc camera anywhere near me, but even the nearest small town to me has one "redlight camera" on one of the two traffic lights in the entire town. Plan accordingly. There will be an exam at some point.

R.I.P. Dolly Parton
I grew up seeing her on the Porter Wagoner Show, etc. before she was famous. I liked s few of her early songs, not so much afterwards. She was a very talented person, but I thought her and Kenny Rogers had conspired in a plot to destroy country music back in the day. I admired Dolly's fortitude. She was born into a very poor family in Appalachia and achieved much. She was benevolent and supported many causes. She was also an advocate for taking the COVID vaccination, writing a jingle to the tune of "Jolene" promoting taking the vax. I'm not implying that is what got her, just stating a fact. She made some films, but like Elvis, she was a better singer than an actor IMHO. She was/is a "fixture" of Americana that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

My wife comes in from taking the grands to school the other morning and informs me that I need to turn the police scanner on as fifteen law enforcement vehicles had a pick up pulled over, bed cover raised, and with multiple coolers on the ground around the truck being opened and searched. This was about two miles from where I live. There were a couple of state troopers, a couple of Dept. of Fish and Game vehicles and the rest of the LEO wagons were county and local police. A couple of days later I came across this story of the "turtle bandit". I can recall several such incidents of turtleknapping in recent years. We also see arrests of the "root diggers" (people who roam the woods digging plants such as Ginseng, Yellow Root, Star Root, etc. for profit) in our national forest.
