Here is the video and description if that doesn't work:

SURVEILLANCE shows when a piece of the Learjet 55 hit a customer inside of Four Seasons Diner on Cottman Ave. I’m told the man is ok. At least 6 people are believed to be dead after the crash, including a child. @6abcActionNews

More here from the NYPOST <<

Also in the comment section, this is the pc that hit him:

  1. That comment the diner was at least a quarter mile from the crash and that still got there...
    Simply incredible.

  3. I believe the plane was fully loaded with fuel for a flight to Mexico. That fuel is a lot of energy that when triggered (upon crashing).. Wouldn't be at all surprised if some parts were found much further out..

    1. News reports I've seen said it was headed for Springfield/Branson MO as a refueling stop. I was thinking about there being gaseous oxygen bottles being onboard adding to the blaze.
Right now, I'm torn between attempting takeoff with the flaps up or a load shift after a normal takeoff being the cause.

    2. were the elevator controls computerized, possible pilot (G-d forbid) error?

    3. Hi Rickn8or, O2 bottles on aircraft have overpressure relief valves to prevent them exploding. You're correct that the released O2 would add to the blaze. Hi boron, no the Learjet has steel control cables, fly by wire was introduced in '83 or so by Airbus.
This is strictly speculation but if the horizontal stabilizer trim actuator were to disconnect from the stabilizer, the front edge of the stabilizer would be free to move upward creating too much lift at the tail and pointing the nose down. See Alaska Airlines Flight 261, we studied that one in a maintenance safety course.

  6. That part that hit him is a medical oxygen post valve. The tank it was attached to could have 2000 psi in it. Shot like a bullet.

  7. Your best source of info on the accident in Juan Browne.
No speculation, just what the known facts are so far.

  8. The timing in this video bothers me. Something gets the couple's attention, she gets up and takes a few steps towards the windows while the old man stares. All this takes several seconds (there's a jump in the video so we don't see how long this takes) I'd guess 4 to 6 seconds total, maybe a bit more. I'd assume what got their attention was the impact/fireball. I'd also assume that the chunk of metal bounced at least once on its way to the diner as it seems to be too flat a trajectory for a direct path. So, would it take 6 seconds for that chunk to travel 1/4 mile and hit him? That seems like too much time.

I'm thinking that the cause will be shown to be spatial disorientation. The pilots trusted their inner ears instead of the instruments while flying in the clouds. They didn't notice that they were in a spiraling nose-dive until they came out of the clouds at 400 feet, with no time to pull out.

    1. At the 5 second mark the shockwaves hit the diner. (You can tell by the shaking ceiling fan).
At 7 seconds, the projectile hits the man.
The shockwave will travel thru solid objects faster than liquid or air so it arrives first. The projectile would've traveled thru a parabolic arc (think ballistic trajectories and drop). I failed h.s. trig, but the location and angle the camera was mounted would alter the projectile's movement making it appear flatter than it really was.
      Nothing suspicious, just physics.

  9. I saw all the stuff people mentioned. The thing that "got" me is how quickly everyone in the video got low. I suppose this is a way of life in many urban areas today. I am not sure what my first reaction would have been. I said all, but noticed the restaurant guy dressed in black. He looked as if he did not have a clue anything was amiss.
