What Band Would You Want To See IF You Could Go Back In Time To See Them?

One of my good blog friends sent me an email this morning saying he was psyched to be going to see the Eagles concert that is coming up in his area. This got me thinking about what band or bands I would like to see if I could get in my Delorean and go back and see them.

I think mine would have to be Pink Floyd doing the original Wall Tour back in the early 80's

Other bands,to name a few, I would like to see back in their heyday would be:

Zeppelin
Rush
Triumph
Van Halen
Queensryche
Emerson Lake And Palmer
Yes

  1. A few of my choices would be The Glenn Miller Band, The Doors and Judas Priest in their 80's era.

  2. Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble opening for Jimi Hendrix don't know how that would work but I have a time machine I think I could figure out something.
    ZZ Top
    AC/DC

  3. +1 on SRV, saw him back in '83 right after he first hit. Like to see Lynyrd Skynyrd pre-plane crash. Nirvana. Early Jimmy Buffett, before he became a corporate buffoon.

  4. Bob Segar and without a doubt ZZ top

I believe these are the only ones I never got to see, that I would want to see.

  7. I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer in 1974 in Houston. It was fantastic, although so loud, when I left with my date, she had to elbow me in the ribs to get my attention. I couldn't hear a word she said and was almost deaf for over an hour.

That's what you get, when your seat is in front of a huge Marshall stack and the bass makes your heart flutter.

  8. The Beatles, circa 1961, in Rotterdam.

  9. Running Wild,
    Helloween
Iron Maiden (In their argued heydays)
    Motley Crue
    Ratt,
All again in their hey days.

  11. I was fortunate enough to see a lot of the "80s" bands in their prime. Metallic during the Cliff years would be a good show. I never did make an Iron Maiden show and would have liked to have seen seen a show at or before Stranger in a Strange Land. Genesis in the round would be a great show. Ozzy on the Diary of a Mad Man tour with Randy Rhodes before he died would be a sight. A double bill of Triumph and Rush would be epic. Boston's Third Stage tour with Brad Delp in all his glory. +1 on the Hendrix/SRV show. I'd see Queensryche's Empire show again with them doing Mindcrime start to finish. That was a great concert the first time around. Deep Purple, Rainbow and Dio would be an interesting show to see. I could go on and on with this one.

  13. None. I don't like crowds. Never have, never will. My favorite band from back in the day was Creedence, but I still would not go to see them.
