So the pressure on the top of the wing is less than the pressure on the bottom of the wing. Got it....

  1. The Russians are apparently so serious about the war they haven't bothered cratering that runway or blowing the rail bridges.

    1. To be fair, the Russians expected to win and didn't want to trash the 'New Russia.' And then things went sideways so quickly they haven't had a good chance to thrash the infrastructure.

    2. Fairer still, that is what you've been told by the ever truthful, non-biased media.

    3. Then how are planes still flying in and out of Kiev? What is your evidence that Russian army, navy, and Air Force haven't been fucked over and savaged? Why have they been advancing to their rear areas for most of the last 10 months? How do you even know there's a war? Maybe everybody's lying to you.

  2. The American way of war is "Shock and Awe" where we totally destroy the civilian (or as we say multi-use) infrastructure and bomb them into the stone age. Shortly afterwards we leave. Ask Afghanistan, Iraq and many others.

If you read the mission statement Russia's special operation was to demilitarize and denazify the Ukraine.

They were trying NOT to attack Civilians but the US Advisers (same that taught the Head Chopper ISIS) to place their artillery and troops inside civilian hospitals and keep television crews nearby.

Given the Ukraine is constantly begging for more tanks and such I suggest the demilitarizing is doing pretty well.

So maybe IF you don't start with the idea of Russia "Taking" the whole of country 404 (Just the useful parts) they are doing pretty well despite the USA dumping more than 15 times the annual military budget in that rathole.

So far every man woman and child in America is in debt to this proxy war to the tune of somewhere in the 300-500 dollars (depending on who's math you accept).

As Gimme Dats and such DON'T PAY Taes that means the real cost to you and I is much higher.

Are you getting your money's worth yet?

Putin is playing a crafty game to avoid giving the USA an excuse to use nuclear weapons, ignoring the bombing of the Kersh Bridge and the Pipelines. For our sake I hope he can keep HIS Hardliners in check as they want to nuke us until we glow already.

For the curious why is the Head of the FBI a "Guest" at Davos right now?

Our real troubles is not Russia, it's much closer to home. Ukraine would resolve in a few weeks if we stopped pumping in military targeting data and weapons.

What are they distracting us from with this proxy war?

    1. I agree with everything you said, and said so well!

We surely won't like it when we find out. Again.

  3. I was expecting the drone to be spun from the vortex.

  4. That aircraft was a one off and was destroyed on the ground during the recent unpleasantness.

  5. Yes, that is what creates the lift and allows the plane to fly but you knew that already.

  6. ps Largest plane in the world, made in Ukraine unbelievably.

  7. Another An-225 was partially assembled before program cancelled. Article did not say where it is being stored but investors want to finish assembly.

  8. While waiting for an outbound commercial flight I got to see that AN-225 at the OKC Aerospace America show in 1990.

    1. I believe I was at that airshow. Right before the AN-225 was due to fly, Tom Jones crashed and perished during his performance. in his new Sukhoi-26 plane. I was on the front line, happened right in front of me. He was responsible for putting those shows on. Was a terrible loss.

  9. Looks to me the drone was above flight path and outboard the wing vortice.

The AN must've been light to rotate in such short distance. I watched an AN-224 take off at full gross weight (full fuel, full weight payload). It used every inch of 9,300' runway into a 9 kt wind. Half mile past the runway it barely cleared trees, or so it looked. Then again, such a huge aircraft distorts perceptions of distance. I stood at the departure end and did see the mains lift off just a short distance into the over run.

  10. Nope. We proved that the forces generated by the pressure differential act chord-wise about a decade ago. The century of assumptions about how lift is generated were wrong.
