They've read the "Approved" version. At my daughter's school they were teaching kids the 2d Amendment meant states could form militias. I got thrown off campus when I complained.
Come on guys, the President and the Secretary of the Treasury in the last few months have indicated they don't even know the Constitution. When my boys were younger even they HAD to know the constitution to get their merit badge, it's an Eagle Scout requirement.
To me, it seems that, everything that happened in the late 60's is once again repeating itself... we just need a conflict (which it appears we're going to get) and we're there.
I think you need to add "and understand" after read. Look at all the black robes that must read the US Constitution and never understand what it says and means: example "utterances from the penumbra". Also the Webster's Dictionary for 1827 is eye-opening on the meaning of the words used. Many have change in the past 220+ years. Remember if you control the language you control the argument.
Read the constitution? They can't even read cursive.
ReplyDeletewe used to be tested on it...just sayin
