I always had t0ow perfectly balanced views of Ian Anderson. I thought that he was superbly talented and a deep deep poet - and also that he was pretty much insane, whether from drug damage or natural, I don't know. But I also wonder why he didn't waste away to nothing, by sweating buckets.... as much as he danced and leapt and gyrated wearing the heavy wardrobe that he did. And of course,. eventually, his custom codpiece.
I remember it well. When I did some DJ work at the on-campus radio at the University of Utah I was the first person to play that album on the air in Utah (I bought a copy while they were still unboxxing them at the record store). The official radio copy didn't come out until weeks later. Attended the concert, too.
In that we have come full circle, back then I was the onlyest 1 with a rifle willing to use it,now I got friends.
