ReplyDeleteOK, before we get too hyped, keep in mind the 1st Amendment doesn't exclude Islam. I want the crazies gone as much as anybody, but there are secular Moslems (and Americans DO Not say Muslim; that's just more PC) who are live and let live and they do have rights.

Agreed. There is the 1st Amendment thingy, even though I believe with all of my heart that the founders intent was that an individual has the right to worship under Calvinistic teachings (Anabaptists, Huguenots, Puritans, or an other Protestant sect) without fear of prosecution (i.e. Church of England) or not to worship at all. Yes, there were some Catholics in the colonial period of America, but that really didn't take off until the mid 1800's. I don't believe the founders could foresee how such a simple declaration allowing a person to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in the manner they saw fit, could and would be bent to allow a death cult to kill off others who do not succumb to their beliefs. Now, here we are.
DeleteTubberville "took it to the max" in the interview. He knows his base supports what he is saying and it is free campaign advertising in his run for governor. His record has been good and he isn't sitting in the Senate with his thumb up his ass afraid to say "anything". More in the Senate should take his cue.
