Excellent assemblage, the Skyraider in 58 will need a lower fuselage rebuild, in addition to a new engine, and Blondi isn't going to have anyone arrested, the System won't agree with that.

The ejector is mounted in the top of the receiver. The case pivots on the extractor and goes out the port. Many guns (M-14, M-16,etc) appear to eject forward , the empty case is struck by the op rod (M-14) or hits the deflector (M-16) and then bounce forward.
