You're not alone in thinking the truck driver was a real AH. Griping about someone pulling out in front of him, maybe flashing his high beams, OK, but actually ramming into the other car and doing it more than once? If I'm the driver of the other car, I'd find the nearest police station and pull in. If continued harassment made it impossible to get to a cop shop, I'd have no choice other than to stop and shoot the dumbass.
Slowly pull to the shoulder and maintain 15 MPH while you get the pistol from your holster into your hand. Don't stop, keep crawling along and prepare to fire. I had to do this as defense against an insane hau frau a couple months ago. She come-a-flying up on my ass which had merged in from an intersection that the light has just changed, blowing the horn continuously. I do not like the horn blowing or her flying up on me when I had merged with PLENTY of room, same as our intrepid driver in this video. FAFO MFRS Kent in Michigan.
The truck driver is an ass, but the guy shouldn't have pulled out in front of the truck either. Neither does too wrongs make it right and in this case things only got worse. It took me long time to understand that not everyone on the road was on my schedule. However, that doesn't excuse the lack of common courtesy or not knowing/following the rules of the road. Driver's Education teachers have failed horribly in this country. How some of the idiots on the road today passed the class, is beyond me.
When my son turned 16, I was shocked to learn that driver's education was not offered in high school any longer (thank you ambulance chasers). In this part of the world, everyone drives, so it would seem to be something schools would continue to offer as part of a basic education.
Talk to your insurance agent. He will steer you to an accredited program that will get you cheaper insurance for the youngster. The schools probably weren't able or willing to satisfy the insurance companies so it would just waste money.
By the way, USAA was incredibly cheep when my daughter put her 20yo boyfriend on her account. USAA for veterans and family.
the person pulling out made a poor choice. the other dude could have easily gone around with no harm, no foul. we don't know why either of them made the choices they did. After the first nudge I would be inclined to do as anon 6:14 advises. Signed, low tolerance for total arseholes.
It's all about climbing and improving your position on the pecking order pyramid. It proves human animals are subject to Mother Nature's basic rule "Survival of the Fittest". Civility is a very thin veneer and thanks to social media it's getting way thinner.
Remember, boys and girls, our modern vehicles transmit driving data to insurance companies.... Claims are checked against the database.... China ain't got virgin's on our surveillance state.
I see his point and have often wanted to smash the stupid SOBs that think if they can get out in front of you, they have the row. Thank God I’ve calmed down since my drugs and alcohol days.
Looked like driver pulled out with plenty of room and AH in back sped up. Hard to tell with this POV but in any case AH in back had an open left lane. Doesn't look like semi.
Had some semi pull some shit on me once on I-80 in WY. Almost pushed me off road when I was in right lane but going uphill and I out ran him. Ended up at same Flying J for gas. I called him on it; he told me I was in his way and shouldn't have even been on the road. Afterwards, he caught up to me. That's what I get for only doing the speed limit. He'd speed up on my bumper going downhill, then I could pull away going uphill. I don't brake-check 80,000 lbs of asshole but fkr almost caught a 30-30 slug if I hadn't finally lost him (pulled off highway when he couldn't see me and let him get in front). One more time though ...
trucker needs a good ass kicking

DeleteHaha, you were a truck driver. That explains everything.

ReplyDeleteDepth perceptionless meets depth charge on the road again 🎶 : boom.
ReplyDeleteNot much enough in the tank, believes he’s driving a tank, a Sherman, meets another who believes he’s driving a Tiger. Paint-trading ensues.
