Guessing it's to eject a 'bad' battery before it catches the whole vehicle on fire? Certainly no other reason for it. Too much inertia that it already pushes a 4XXX vehicle to the side, it'll break a leg or cause a problem for another vehicle, but not enough force for much else. Going to be nice when it self ejects inside the garage though, takes out a knee wall or fires the battery under the gas powered car in there with it.
That is an interesting theory millerized and you are probably correct (i.e. "We have a battery fire indicator light showing hot! EJECT, EJECT, EJECT!").
