Florida man survives alligator attack, shot and killed by deputies moments later: "This is just crazy stuff"
Polk County Sheriff discusses the shooting of 42 yr. old Timothy Schultz
In a nutshell; Schultz was swimming in a lake with alligators. Neighbors call the law. Schultz refuses aid for the gator bite. Schultz arms himself wih prunning shears and is acting "out of control"/threatens deputies. Deputies shoot Schultz multiple times after trying to deescalate the situation and tasing him twice. No deputies were injured in this incident. Read more here and here. Meth was also mentioned in the articles (shocker).
Sounds like proof that Alligator piss will make you crazy.
ReplyDeleteSometimes deescalating means go away and leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteSounds like he was on the good stuff
ReplyDeleteSaw this story a couple other places, he was on the good stuff.
DeleteThe most dangerous gov't employee is the cop on the street for it has the ability to kill you with impunity and summon all forms of support up to and including air strikes. Do not hesitate killing it on the spot if it attacks you.
ReplyDeleteOr you could, you know, not threaten them with stabbing implements in a drug-fueled haze.
DeleteYou're missing the point: the cause of death wasn't "threatening deputies with stabbing in a drug-fueled haze", it was murder by cop.
DeleteThey became the bigger problem simply by arriving.
People aren't, lasted I checked, disarmed in Florida, nor shy about dealing with drug-impaired rage monsters.
The guy wasn't running around attacking bystanders before the cops arrived.
When the appearance of law enforcement leads to a 1.000 batting average on somebody getting killed, the police are the problem, not the solution, and yet again, there's no situation where their arrival doesn't make any incident demonstrably worse. Without them, this was comedy with Darwinian Selection as the central theme.
With them, it was extra-judicial assassination. If the guy had brought his dog, 11 chances out of 10 they'd have capped Fido too.
But they all went home after their shift.
Citizen Shultz, not so much.
Alligators can sleep soundly in their beds, knowing Florida cops are there to protect them.
One can but imagine their official write-up if they arrived at an adult softball game, and ended up killing any number of players, claiming they were threatened on arrival by angry men with clubs.
Now see if you can guess why no one - no one -calls the cops when MLB clubhouse brawls or NHL hockey fights break out.
Either too much of the wrong drugs, or too little of the right drugs.

Funny thought-
ReplyDeleteGators are less deadly than cops.
When a Florida Man is all hyped up on Mountain Dew and just fought a gator, you don't mess with him.
ReplyDeleteDon't they teach these things in school?
If you don’t like cops, next time you’re in trouble call a meth head. There, fixed it for you.
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me that shooting him was not de-escalation unless stupid started firing bullets from those hedge trimmers. Something else also tells me there are a lot of people in this situation that cant define a woman correctly...
