When It Smells Like Presidential Depends You Know Shenanigans Are Afoot...

NEW YORK, Dec 29 (Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors said they do not plan to conduct a second trial against Sam Bankman-Fried, who was convicted last month of stealing from customers of his now-bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange.

In a letter filed on Friday night in federal court in Manhattan, prosecutors said the "strong public interest" in a prompt resolution of their case against the 31-year-old former billionaire outweighed the benefits of a second trial.

Prosecutors said that interest "weighs particularly heavily here," given that Bankman-Fried's scheduled March 28, 2024, sentencing will likely include orders of forfeiture and restitution for victims of his crimes.

Jurors on Nov. 2 convicted Bankman-Fried on all seven fraud and conspiracy counts he faced. Prosecutors had accused him of looting $8 billion from FTX customers out of sheer greed.

Lawyers for Bankman-Fried declined to comment.

Bankman-Fried had faced six additional charges that had been severed from his first trial, including campaign finance violations, conspiracy to commit bribery, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business.

SCREECH.....    HUH??

 Read that again:

Bankman-Fried had faced six additional charges that had been severed from his first trial, including campaign finance violations, conspiracy to commit bribery, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business.

Now why would they separate those charges?? Inquiring minds want to know.....

Could it be that there were campaign irregularities that the U.S. prosecutors did not want to be made public?

Let's rewind to December 2022 <<<<<<<<<

 /snip

Disgraced FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried faces a litany of charges tied to the collapse of his cryptocurrency exchange. But along with being an outsized figure in crypto, Bankman-Fried (nicknamed SBF) is also one of the largest political donors in American politics, and has been accused of violating campaign finance laws as part of a scheme to illegally funnel millions of dollars to candidates and political action groups ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

  /snip

Bankman-Fried contributed more than $70 million to election campaigns in less than 18 months, placing him among the nation’s top political donors. He personally gave at least $40 million to politicians and political action committees ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, mostly to Democrats and liberal-leaning groups, making him the second overall top donor to Democrats, only behind George Soros, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

  /snip

Other lawmakers that received maximum donations from Bankman-Fried include Democratic Senators Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, and Cory Booker of New Jersey; and Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine.

  /snip

In total, federal election filings show that Stabenow and Hassan were the candidates to receive the most money directly from Bankman-Fried this year, at over $20,000 each.

Nah, ‘Trust the science’.

Nothing to see here.... Move along......

H/t to PS

    3. That’s it ! Just call ‘em a nahtsi and that absolves all association. Pattern recognition is inherent in individuals with higher thought processes and is instinctual in nature. Personally, I think a bad person is just a bad person. Recognizing it is the hard part.

    1. +1 Michael. Obama has always wanted to reduce America to third-world status, and in his third term he is doing his best to see it happens. Not that all decisions made are his, but I believe he has been given quite a bit of freedom in determining how that happens.

  4. The reason given for Not Prosecuting this obvious crime is given as:
"prosecutors said the "strong public interest"...
yet they left out one very important word...It should have said:
"prosecutors said the "strong public officials' interest" in a prompt resolution of their case..."
Hmmm must be the same Slimeball who stated that "No reasonable prosecutor
(who wished to remain among the living)
would prosecute this case against Hillary Clinton"

  8. What is more disgusting than the politicians sweeping this yet another incident of the massive corruption in Washingmoney, is that a large percentage of the sheep have absolutely no problem with it again...as always. Meanwhile the country swirls further down the toilet as the media feed the sheep bullshit and they happily swallow it saying, "Yum yum."

  13. There is no "government" per say, that is a total fallacy, its all lies, intended for our consumption, to keep us complacent, as in everything we are told to believe is a lie.
What exists operating behind the facade, operating along the fringes of the shadows those lies produce, is a thoroughly established world order consisting of a collection if controlling families of "special" bloodlines, who have maintained control and waged global domination games since king Solomon's reign.
In 2007 these bankster families and those who are their superiors, a whole different group if "special" bloodlines, lost control if the global monetary system which was run out of the Treasury of USA, a wholly private elite bank, the federal reserve and US Treasury as its face front, the IRS also a wholly private corporation, which sent 98% of all taxes to the Rothchild owned London Bank, actually almost every country on earth taxes where delivered to the Rothchillian family operation, thru the IRS, only a pittance filtered back to each respective country for use as revenue and overhead for their people. Just mind boggling amounts of filthy lucre, all so they could control the whole planet via control of the money supply of the entire world. Plus for things like "military theater," the global media complex, simly put they used this filthy lucre to control everything. Since 2007 when they lost control of the global repository, the Rothchillians et all, being completely cut off from taxation/theft money supply, the existing slug of wealth in the pipeline since has dwindled down to nothing, and presently every country in the world is facing bankruptsy because no new allocation of fresh funds have been released, but for one time during Trump's administration, and to totally pay off the national debt, no other allocations been provided since 2007, which has led to today, and if you have not noticed, from false flags to chem trails, large war, big natural disasters etc have begun to peter out, but for one last desperate attempt to regain control in global domination, great reset agenda 21, covid etc, dwindling down to like farts in a mitten this last year, mostly what they are trying to pull off is doing stuff on the cheap, notice also how "NATO", an order of the black sun creation, basically the protection side of the Rothchillian family's operations, who are order of the dragons, they control all the agencies in most countries, the intell and surveillance side, the Rithchillians control the media and political handlers who almost all political figures have controlling what they say and do. Its all fake, its getting real gay and clown world as they struggle to keep their grips on the levers of power, mostly financial power. But the wells dried up. They have no source in the amounts of money they truly need. Its coming to its end. The operatives doing the dirty work are quiting because no paychecks. Many have been killed in interneciene warfare between the various orders fighting over scraps. The entire world is bankrupted due to these fucking assholes who once controlled us all. Good bye sucks to be you not.

    1. And now the same bwitch (James) is going after the NRA. I can't feel sorry for them, since the LaPierre and his buddies have been suckering their members (I was one for over twenty years, ending in 1997) playing both sides against the other. Do a little research and you will discover they have been helping to write almost all (but definitely the major parts, like NFA '34, GCA '68, Lautenberg Amendment) gun control legislation passed into law in order to boost membership dues and all of the fund-raising they have been pushing through the years - for potential gun control bills they helped create. They have even tried to take credit for successful district court and Supreme Court cases won by the GOA (Life Member) and Second Amendment Foundation.
Even so, since James is attacking them, you know it is just a political attack on the NRA - behavior no different from what goes on every day in the ranks of Congress and the rest of the federal government. By that measure, even if her charges were true, they would be child's play compared to what scum like Pelosi, Feinstein, Schumer, Schiff, Ryan, McConnell, and others have been engaged in for many years.

  15. Here it is in a nut shell: We're doomed because the, take no prisoners, ideological war began decades ago and it's in its final stage. Progressives are smarter, obsessed and more motivated than us laissez-faire Conservatives. America's gonna change big time in the next decade and all the emotional reacting shouting on Social Media isn't going to change anything.

I recently retired and even I don't give a fuck anymore.
I'm going to enjoy what time I have left and try to avoid everything I can't control. Hopefully by the time the shit hits the fan I'll be dead and gone. Defeatist? Yeah, but I did what I could and now it's up to those younger and less cynical than me.
