Good Mornin'!! News of my demise is greatly exaggerated...

Thanks to those of you that have reached out to check on ye olde Irish.  Lately life has been

wash, rinse, repeat. Vehicle issues, spring has sprung and everything is growing like weeds, including

the weeds. Work is busy, very busy, but I'm not complaining. I have few days of PTO coming up

so that should help recharge the batteries.

Jeffery had a Way Back Wednesday post but he ran out of runway before he could post it. Stay tuned

for that and FFF.

In just over four months they have turned the country upside down. Everyday bombardment with

vaccine, social justice, conflicting mask criteria, what little TV I catch is so blatantly skewed as to

demography it's laughable. One particular show that the other bunker dwellers enjoy is FBI.

Every time they sit to watch is I comment "It's gonna be a white guy that does the shooting". Sure as

shit, it's a white guy. Last night a white guy in military type clothing shot up a black owned restaurant.

I only watched until my prediction came true.

Stay safe out there, I do lurk, just not too much of interest or time to post lately.

Irish

P.S.

If you want to enjoy some internet time here is a picture of a granite lathe used to turn columns for

building facades.  It is still at REDSTONE QUARRY in Northern NH. I happened across a post on Farcebook entitled forgotten NH.

There is quite a history with this quarry. All images below were found on the internet.

Lately blogspot , blogger, whatever you want to call it has been acting weird.

Removing the reaction buttons, blocking multiple sites with malware warning,

some widgets don't work or take time to fuck with until the post or site looks like I want it, etc.

It gets to the point of frustration that hasn't been worth it. Kinda like chatting with a Biden supporter.

    1. This is all new to Americans, we need some Romanians to teach us how to end communist oppression.

  5. A rusty lathe, whatever you do, do not let Phil see that, next we will hear is him trying to buy it and load it into his Cheby and wondering why it won't fit... or wondering if the local U-Haul is open with a big truck.

  6. In addition to most all of the TV scripts now choosing white guys/white groups to be the bad guy(s), every show now also has that "Woe is us" moment in the script, approximately mid-show, where one of the black actors drones on for about a minute on how they cannot get a break; how doctors won't treat them equally as patients; how every decision they've ever had to make had been harder and more complicated by the color of their skin. Irish, you're looking for the white guy to be bad moment and I call out the "there it is" moment on almost all shows right now where the ills of the black community are proclaimed as systemic racism, instead of folks looking in the mirror and seeing whose actions really caused them their anguish.

    2. I'd say it was my pleasure, but it's not. I'd cancel the subscription in a heartbeat, but "she" makes that decision. ;-)

    3. I have one of those also.
I am still for eliminating cable, but "she" will not let me.
Been married too long and now too damn old to let that "she" loose on the world.

  7. Or the mud sharking, gay parents, white male is the hapless idiot. I learned this many many months ago just before I quite watching.

  8. That is one cool lathe. If you look on google maps just northwest of Marble Falls Texas you can see the still active above ground granite quarry that the granite for the State Capitol of Texas building came from. This is a igneous rock formation called a batholith.

    1. Ton of stone comes out of Texas but the big limestone quarries around Bloomington/Bedford/Oolitic Indiana aren't slouches either. Check them out sometime.

  10. I don't watch much TV either. I certainly don't watch any sitcoms or TV dramas. Or network or cable news. Come to think of it, about the only thing that I really half watch is the occasional Detroit Tigers baseball game. Their young pitcher Spencer Turnbull pitched a no hitter last night, but it only counts half, since he did it against Seattle. Someone else already did it to them this month.

  11. I lived in a cabin in the woods long ago. Not far away in the woods was the remains of an old gas well drilling rig. Big old diesel in what was left of a hut. Cables draped through some now larger trees. I guess in the early 50's, an old well dude from Pa. came to the area and convinced a dairy to drill. They piped the gas 4 miles to the plant. They tried to rig the rig to go deeper than it could and there it sat. One well worked and the farm there still has gas. Used to be a fun hike to go check out. Dairy long, long gone of course.

  15. About Blogspot - owned by Grrrgle. Kinda like playing with matches surrounded by near empty gas cans. Your blog is too precious to lose. Please back it up. It would not hurt to explore hosting options. There are some good ones out there. I was offering hosting to liberty-minded patriots for a while. No takers. $75/year. Was it crap hosting? You tell me. I added a domain w/ word press and a $600 theme. The developer recommended some (IMO) high priced hosting options. I checked the metrics against their expensive hosts and mine were right up there with the best of them. That said, note a lot depends on the traffic you require along with the bandwidth you'd need and $75/year hosting is not going to cut it. Also note a lot the graphics you have accumulated on this blog would be difficult to transfer. The bottom line is you are currently at the mercy of the high tech controllers who can and will shut you down on a whim. Need I list those who have preceded you?
