A Friend Of Mine Has A Nice G-43/Magazine Collection

  1. Very nice. If any of them are shooters, I trust they have been thoroughly checked out. Late war production had issues, not the least of which was the use of slave labor, and the ever present "over adjustment" of the machine tool settings.

  2. I have to say, those are nice looking rifles. And also very inspirational, they make a fella want to start a collection of a single type of firearm. Damn, if they would only find a huge cache of hidden gems like M1 carbines or such. Sadly, I think the days of the 100$ Mosin Nagant are gone forever.

  4. That's a pretty healthy retirement fund. I remember when they were less than $100 each. Look what they bring at auction now. https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/69/1569/walther-model-g43-semiautomatic-nazi-sniper-rifle.

    2. Prices are insane for those things today. Back in the nineties when I first started getting The Shotgun News, they were about $400. I paid $1,500.00 for mine in 1999. It was in "Good" condition and had an original Ajax scope and repro mount, three original and two post war Danish magazines. I kept it a few years and shot it some. I sold it for $2,750.00 about ten years ago. I don't know if that type rig is bringing it or not, but I see them at gun shows for $6,000.000-$8,000.00 (sometimes more). Have you seen the prices of 98k's lately?
