Some of the contents from the century chest, unearthed in April 2013 in OKC

100 years ago a ladies group buried a time capsule with all kinds of documents and items from every day life.  Fox 25 was there when the time capsule was finally unearthed.

With great fanfare, The Century Chest made its way to the front of the First Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City.  For the first time in 100 years, documents wrapped in brown paper and tied with string got a breath of fresh air.

  1. This shows the pride people had in America back then. Just think of all the crappy, plastic Chinese junk that would fill a time capsule of today. Do you think a copy of our Constitution be thrown in as an afterthought?

  2. Fascinating looking at the pictures. What care and intelligence went into picking the items included.
