Cinnamon Eggs.....

It was a dark and dreary morning, the body was covered in half coagul.....( oooops wrong thought thread)

I'm half asleep and getting getting some breakfast before heading to work. The usual scrambled eggs are on the menu. I enjoy them with some Cayenne pepper to give them a little kick and wake up the old digestive system.

I get the pan all warmed up, crack the eggs, then reach in the cabinet for the Cayenne topping.
Since I'm not all here yet I start to shake the bottle over the eggs.. my brain screams stop but my hand keeps going. Low and behold..I am holding the cinnamon spice instead............

It appears someone must have used it and put it back on the same top shelf of the cabinet as my Cayenne pepper... may they suffer the fate from the first sentence.
Needless to say my beautiful, delicious, mouthwatering breakfast was at that point ruined so I thought.

After my initial swearing in my head, I was still respectful that others were sleeping, I said the hell with it , this will make a good post and others could bask in my misery.

I finished up cooking and ended up eating my concoction because I didn't want it to go to waste.. you know the whole starving kid thing in Africa and all.

They really weren't that bad although there was a lot of cinnamon ( it poured faster than the Cayenne)but it really didn't have an over powering taste. I guess I will think about it as a cinnamon  bun without the bun and sugar and scrambled egg breakfast.

Now I'm off to get a large coffee and wake my sorry ass up.. Hopefully I don't add soy milk instead of good old half and half.......

mmmmmmm  cinnamon buns.........

  1. I did that with french fries once instead of seasoned salt I mistakenly grabbed the cinnamon.

  4. I've made the same mistake myself. It's actually not too bad--kind of like french toast without the bread.

I do go through quite a bit of cayenne though and found habanero powder for an extra kick for the morning eggs.

  8. This is the only egg recipe I could find on short notice. Seems complicated and ... dangerous. Oh, and apparently the eggs aren't part of the recipe per se.
