  2. Wow! Thanks, that was worth watching. Maybe I won't go hiking in Montana. And I thought the deer around here are a nuisance...

  3. We had scabbards on all our tractors. I would get at least one deer every year. I never saw a bear in a hayfield.

    2. That's pretty plainly a cornfield. Bears will eat most anything this time of year.

    1. The Farm knows exactly how damaging Black Bears can be to a corn field.
Acres of it knocked flat where they would sit and eat everything they could reach. Called Bear Circles up here.
They gorge themselves until they get sick. Then they puke it back up, move to a different spot and start again.
A neighbor of theirs lost just about all of a 12 acre field to bear damage.
Our bears may be smaller, but they are no less the vermin.

  5. Bear jerky can be amazingly good, depending on what they eat...I had some bear jerky years ago that I was a little hesitant to eat. Then I tried it. WOW! It was WONDERFUL!

    1. I made bear jerky with some of the meat from my first bear. The best thing, though is grilling the little tenderloin medallions after marinating. You don't want to eat them rare, though. Could be parasites.

  6. Sure wouldn't want to hit one of those, a little rock will disable a combine.

  8. How much would he charge for shotgun seat? If reasonable, I'd take it with my iron-sight .243Win.
