    1. I like it. One can see the ideas/concepts of GM designers that eventually were implemented later onto and into other models (i.e. dash/instrumentation). For 1964, this car was ahead of it's time. I don't know if I could have afforded it, if I would have ran out and bought one. The "muscle car" era had just begun and though this doesn't fit the into the category of the types of cars that were begging to be installed in Galaxies, Impalas, Belvederes, etc., the innovations were just on the cusp of an automotive boom that was about to literally explode with a whole new class of cars (Mustangs, Firebirds, Camaros, etc.) that would become so popular that some are still produced today.

  4. There were two built. One had the OHC-6 that Pontiac made, and the other had a 389 V8 in it. GM said "NO" because they knew it would cut into Corvette sales....

    1. Wilder and even less practical than this one. At least the Banshee was developed to pre-production level. That Corvair was two steps past the clay model stage.
