Thanks for the reminder at #52 as to why we observe Memorial Day. Untold thousands have given all to secure the freedoms we enjoy. They deserve our remembrance and respect.

Ah, the old "Special Request Chit".... I remember them well. I once filled one out to get my New Year's Eve shift off and in the Reason For Request section I wrote "To participate in world-wide celebration". My LPO signed it with an asterisk and wrote "Xanadu?".
So much beauty, thank you. I only knew/know a few of this magnitude, but what could be better than a beautiful co-worker/girl next door/acquaintance/etc. One example is I was giving a talk at Cambridge U. It was well received and shown in the nearby tradeshow on video. The company I worked for had a booth and across from it was a blonde supermodel, for lack of a better word. I asked her if she watched the talk and in a posh English accent she exclaimed, "Dan, you were brilliant!". When I'm having a crappy day, at least I can fall back on that.
