I went to WaWa last week to get gas, half a tank for $34, and they put a $125 hold on my credit card. There was a time, that hold alone, would put a hurt on me until the charges cleared.
Went to Sam's Club gas last weekend to top off the tank for wife's Mini. She had +-$65 balance on her business debit card. We only needed about $20 but the fracking card reader kept declining the transaction. Finally had to use the family debit card. Fracking Sam's was trying to put a $100 hold on the Debit card!
Irish, I'm working on a rocket mass heater install in my basement as I figure all forms of energy are going to get stupidly expensive and or intermittent. I've burned wood most of my life and the RMH really gets the most out of a cord of firewood, even better burns crap green pine without issues.
We live in nor'easter country and pretty soon the Biden nor'easter is going to get ugly for a long time.
You are an idiot. No, nobody promised us a certain price. That would be price-fixing. What we DO understand, and you apparently do not, is that the price of gas is artificially and purposefully high due to actions specifically taken by the Biden administration. And don't give me the BS party line that "they don't use the leases they have". Just because there is a news story about a lease being unused doesn't mean that regulations are conducive to using that lease. As a regulated business, you look at all factors when deciding how and when to manufacture your product. The current US government policy is 90% of the price problem. Russia-Ukraine is a distraction welcomed by Biden when he publicly mused that a minor incursion would be OK. He publicly OK'd the minor; he privately is very pleased with the major incursion. Wake up, or just stay WOKE if you want.

Lucky here but I believe we will break the 4 dollar a gallon this week. I know its worse elsewhere but still praying for all of us then asking for passing of the ammo.
The promise is that elected officials should do what's best for the people they were chosen to represent not some country 5k miles away that is corrupt and used for money laundering and where the children of 4 of said elected officials sit on the boards of energy companies. Kosher that? Wait till the price of soi sky rockets from costs of fuel and fertilizer and we hear your moaning. Please refer to Venezuela as the shining example you seem so keen on.
and the hits just keep coming. 4.69 here for the cheap stuff. used to buy the good stuff all the time. but once it went over 4 bucks. I started getting the lower grade. still, the way things are going. if you got the room/space to store some , you might as well. I looking to get some corn free for storage after adding the stabilizer to it. heating oil is now over 5 bucks. a lot of homes around here use it. I just glad I put in 2 wood stoves after moving up here a few years ago. and from what I hear, there isn't a wood stove for sale anywhere around here these days some pellet stoves yes, but you need to buy pellets and they need electric power to run for the most part. weather has bein wet so far, not many fields are planted yet either around here- not good. if you have not started storing food and stuff, you better get started fast as this doesn't look good.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Anon, but it's TOO LATE. We've tipped over. Hunker down, cut costs to the bone, reuse-recycle as much as you can. Save things you used to throw away, containers, used aluminum, food storage bags. Everybody should know the drill by now. If you don't, been nice knowing you, grasshopper...
Bought gas in Medford OR a few days ago and they weren't accepting $100 bills ... said they've been getting counterfeits. Had to go to a bank to break some bills.
Anon is an idiot. People can’t feed their kids apples. Fruits and eggs have become horribly expensive. I’ve started supplementing my family members with children an extra hundred dollars. Month just to make sure they have some food. I k ow it’s not much. I’ve also made emergency stored food supplies for them. I e made it from the times when this would have been catastrophic for me but I will never forget my humble beginnings. When I shop, I have a visceral reaction to the prices and empty shelves which are still here. This is going to get worse. Also have a garden this year which is producing well. So a you tube where. Guy made tunnel green house out of bent electrical wire tubing. I used two ten footers bent them to meet in the middle. It makes a ten foot wide tunnel you can walk under. MKe them as long as you want. I covered them with wire fencing and closed up the ends. Wish I would have done it sooner. Also have ten chickens and a bunch of quail. I pray for young families. Thinking of your Mom Irish.
Call them what you will. My family is eating. Talk a walk outside and breathe in the beauty, maybe you will gain some compassion. Maybe not. Your choice. Thinking you will probably choose misery.

They are stopping the pumps around here at 70 or 75, I always try to keep half a tank but the wife drives it a lot so...

DeletePut $75 in my F-150 this week. Before Biden it was usually $25 for 3/4 tank.
