Oh, she knows EXACTLY what she's doing. She's done it for so long, and done it so well, she doesn't need measuring spoons and cups. Like g'grandma's recipes, "a spoon of this and a pinch of that" works just fine to make delicious dinners.
Oh, yah, she did! I've a family cookbook with numerous recipes with "pinch of this/that"... "dash of milk/butter/lemon juice"..." let stand for half a day or overnight"... "a couple eggs or so"... "eggs as needed to bind"... You'd be amazed at how well those women could cook-- "going home" for a week end, or day or week, is always the most pleasant of experiences. God bless all grandmas and moms.
THAT is one hard-working gal!
ReplyDeleteShe sure put a lot of jiggle and bounce in those noodles!
ReplyDeleteWhat food? I don't remember any food.

ReplyDeleteShe has no idea what she’s doing (throw a little of everything in there)! But I’d eat anything she makes with a smile
