Game camera captures images of "scantily clad witches" chomping down on a putrefied deer carcass

"You can't make up such a thing as that. I dare you too even try."

This sounds like one of those stories that really cannot be made up. Either it is a truly bizarre story or someone has "punked" grandpa's game camera. I'm leaning towards the latter.

After finding a dead deer carcass, Coriena Stanhope (36) and her grandpa decided to put up a game camera and see what critters might be interested in the rotting deer. I came home the next day and grandpa said he got some naked people on the camera and I said "no you didn't". He said BU!!$hit" and showed me she said.

  1. In the article the woman involved said her horse seems spooked now in the area where the deer carcass was. That is not at all surprising, horses almost always act weird around dead things and especially if they smell blood. No witchcraft needed.

    1. I've seen and heard some crazy stuff in my outdoor career, but I've never seen that or those two witches.
Years ago I was turkey hunting in an adjoining county on public land. I had been sitting at the head of a holler blind calling where I had heard a gobbler earlier. As I stood to leave, I heard the blood curdling scream of a woman. I had driven around a dilapidated berm approximately 1.5 miles down a logging road that was off of a dirt access road and then walked almost another mile. So, I was back in the woods and far away from people. I had noticed a lot of downed timber from a storm as I was walking in and now this was the direction of the screaming that was getting closer and fast. I as I climbed higher on the hill I saw a woman a horseback running at breakneck speed through that downed timber. I could hear the horse galloping too. It was early in the season and the leaves had not put on yet so I could see her well. I've been around horses all my life and this was far from a normal ride. I thought her bridal had broken and she couldn't get the horse to stop. The horse and lady rider go out of sight and hearing with her screaming at the top of her lungs. I'm in the middle of nowhere and I didn't think dialing 911 would do much good. I drove home thinking about what I had seen and heard. After I got home, the incident was still heavy on my mind. I ended up calling a guy who lived and hunted in that area. I had met over there earlier and explained to him what I had encountered. He told me who he thought it was this retired lady who lived near that land. He said when she sees a vehicle while riding, she starts screaming and takes off thinking it will lessen her chances of being shot by a hunter. He said he had experienced it firsthand. I've been back lots of times, but never saw that again. I have since spoken to the lady who rides her horse followed by a pack of dogs, but I never did ask her how she managed to negotiate all of that fallen timber that day. She was either an expert rider or lady luck was with her that evening.

  4. Ahh, brings back memories of the 80's 'Witch Craze' when every two bit street preacher had "irrefutable" evidence that dA EBiL wITcHes were everywhere (even if they had to get caught making up the proof). Sorta reminds me of all the rabbis that get busted spray painting their own temples with swastikas.
