  1. I can think of so many better collections of songs that are 75 and 100 years old

    Now I feel REALLY old...

  3. The sad part is remembering going to the local record store to buy them when they were new! Or maybe that's the happy part?

  4. Shit, I am old, listened to all of those albums, use to have all except for two or three...

  6. In 50 years more time will anybody be able to compile such a list of great music and artists with such longevity?

  7. You are getting into my wheelhouse. Graduated in 77. Trying to get my class to consider a reunion this year. Gonna be Foghat, BTO, Led Zep, Kiss, Yes, all the fun stuff if I get to choose.

  8. Think about this for a moment, it's 1970, and our parents are playing music from 1920, saying it was the best

  9. Hmmm... A lot of those look really familiar. Something to do with a vague misspent youth...

  11. I got every one of those from Columbia House.

    For a penny.

  12. Had Yes, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Uriah Heep, ELP, BOC, Genesis & Allman Brothers from this list. Not really interested in the others.

  13. I was born in 1960. So growing up, thinking about 2000, and how I would turn 40, and it would be such a big deal. Now, looking back, and seeing how those years just flew by, I realize that a handy yardstick really is the music of my life. Of course, I am a musician, from way back, so it only seems right that music plays a big part in my hearts memories.
One thing that I do know, is that if not for music, life would have been much less worth living, and my time would have been harder to endure at times. Music was often the only thing that was able to keep me going, during some of the hardest times in my life. To think that God blessed us with music, and how it comes together, to form a perfectly harmonious thing, is to know that God really does love us.

  14. The number of these that I bought as fresh vinyl hurts my head (to go along with the rest of my 67 year old bod). Wore them all out, finally recycled them a few years back. Wish I had saved some of album covers though, such as Yes, ELP and the like.
