Fun 70s music fact. Ed King, the original 3rd guitarist for Skynyrd and author of "Sweet Home Alabama" was already famous as a guitarist when he joined them. He played with the strawberry alarm clock and had a few hits with them. There's even a movie, "beyond the valley of the dolls" where he's on screen at a party with the band in his schlocky 60s psychedelic outfit. The talent is obvious even back then but damned if he doesn't look like the nerdiest high school kid ever.
