OMFG. I had a 63 Ford Falcon Van once. No shit, I could literally write a book about all the escapades and misfortunes I went through with that POS. Wow. The memories that brought back.
The design of the F-4 was the first industrial application of LSD. If you could work on an F-4, you could work on anything. Then came the F-15s where even the new kids could fix everything with a Leatherman.
Thanks Dude, great line up, really makes my week, seriously, something nice to look forward to, and ya got great style if you don't care my saying so, appreciate you.
I was wondering if someone would catch that. When I first saw it I was amazed at the workmanship needed to put that together. After some rabbit hole work I found this:
DAF Trado system https://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/Netherlands/DAF_Pantserwagen_M39_Pantrado.php
DAF trado system —>The Trado was a truck manufactured by DAF in the Netherlands. —>design-The Trado consisted of a leaf-springed bogie with two actuated road wheels that could be easily attached to, driven by and rotate on the back axis of any commercial truck, thus adding a "walking beam" to the vehicle that significantly improved its cross-country performance.
What great finds the picture of the bogie setup and the military hardware webpage are. Thanks for them both. I bookmarked the webpage because I know I could never find it if I tried looking for it.
That bogie system is pure genius. I'll bet if they made it today they'd sell tons of them. Talk about being able to climb a tree!
I believe that's Lynda Carter on the beach towel about 40% of the way down. She had to be one of the most beautiful and photogenic women ever to be placed on God's green Earth.
The "turret fighter" concept was flawed, but the Defiants were designed to be bomber destroyers, and they were actually reasonably good at that, especially at night . Dogfighting with Bf-109s - not so much .
Hi, Gene; Hi, Lynda; very nice fleshy on 83, nicely veiled on 98, ain't it da troof on 100, nicer cupholders on 107, nice bouncy on 113, 123, nice 50s on 124, exemplary bouncy on 128.
Well, I missed last night. Completely slipped my going feeble mind, However getting to it this morning didn't disappoint. Nice crop of gifs, movie stars, those eyes, Detroit iron and delicious looking food.
On the Live Free or Die obelisk, I googley eyed the photo looking for a location, coming up empty, except for this little piece of history on the origin, adoptation and law suits over the motto:
That '59 Caddy is awesome! That B-17 looks like one of the early A or B models with the original tail, but the tail can't be seen in the pic I think that Army wrecker is built on a 5-ton truck chassis. The lovely ladies are great, as usual! On the eye test, I'm guessing back row on the left.... Great work! Thanks for all you do!
Irish, I hope all is well with your mom. Another solid roundup of pics this week. I like how you somewhat teased us for the first 75 pics before really opening up. Happy Independence Day tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteI'll have to read about those. Thanks
