Yes, sex can sell if if is the right kind of sex for the right kind of product for the right market, but we all witnessed how the right kind of product with the wrong type of sex and advertising can severely damage the sales of a company (i.e. Bud Light a.k.a. buttlight, trannyfluid, etc). I'm not sure anyone is selling anything here unless it is Greasy King (the guy who puts these CCR/dancing girls together). I was reading the comments underneath the video and one said almost the same thing as Matthew about those wimmins being grannies now. I have not researched it, but I bet those ladies are not as old as the song. If anyone has any insight on those ladies, I'd like to read about it. I thought it was refreshing to see some young ladies without tattoos, piercings, green hair, botox or in other words natural "wimmins".
Those gurlz were in a group called "Pans People" and even though I never heard of them til today they have quite arecord, look em up. Greasy King appears to be a greasy thief.
Thanks ghostsniper. It looks as if those ladies would be well into their 70's after all and were around about the time "Green River" was released. I had never heard of the Pans People until now. Yes, GK makes zero bones about "borrowing" material (photos, videos, music, etc.) for his productions and IMHO he turns out some "gooduns".
Try this one - Pans People were the forerunners of Hot Gossip. The dnacing starts at about the 2 minutes 20 mark ... though the introduction starts at the 1 minute 50 mark.
I love watching the women from my era. Nowadays, I watch the routine more closely and see the blonde on the left running out of gas, or forgetting the next move. No matter; makes the dance even more fun to see.
Most of those girls have grandchildren now, who will never know just how much cooler grandma was than they will ever be.
ReplyDeleteYou’ll never prove I had anything to do with that!
DeleteOoooh. Go-Go Girls. Me like Go-Go Girls.
ReplyDeleteA tradition that should never have ended in the good ol' USA.
Not so much with polyester leisure suits.
Sex sells!!!

DeleteThose are some very hard work young women there. Now of course they are in their 70's!
ReplyDeleteI have CCR as my phone ringtone.
Yes!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you.
Sadly at my age, I wanted to see more of the peaceful green river than the go-gos. I appreciate both but would just rather see the tranquility
ReplyDeleteThose gals knew how to shake their moneymaker!
