Ain't that the truth

  1. It always strikes me as odd that the people worried about "carbon footprints" "global warming" "clean energy" really don't care what a gallon of gas or heating fuel costs at all. It makes no difference to these elites. The difference our low energy costs make is to the guy working a low paying job, just getting himself to work and being able to put food on the table. Low fuel costs mean everything that has to be transported, which means food and well, everything, can cost less.

I am not an economist, but I think this is true. One pipeline goes down, and now how do people get to work who actually have to be somewhere to build a house or repair cars or machine parts?

    1. I'm not going to drop numbers or names but I paid EASY a third more for fuel than I did in the middle of last week

  2. Pity is Irish SOOOO Many folks I work with wouldn't get that Meme idea even when explained.

As my favorite T-shirt says "I can Explain it to you But I cannot Understand it for you".

BTW some of them *still* have bumper stickers cheering they "Resisted Trump". I SO want some bumper stickers to ADD to their cars saying "Miss Me Yet? and an Orange Old Man of the Mountain silhouette.

And fired the shot heard 'round the world.

  4. According to the NYT, Nationally the top 1% earn ~$400k/yr (DC >500k, NYC >600K) so of course the elites don't worry about housing (cost or rent), food and fuel cost increases. For the bottom 90%, inflation will have a significant adverse impact on them, let alone a supply chain failure like the Colonial pipeline.
Biden does not care one iota, just wait to Kamala takes over and F*cks the nation.

  5. For a lot of folks, just finding a gallon of gasoline would be nice.

    1. Wonder what you won't find next now that the I-40 bridge AND the Mighty Mississip' are both shut down in Memphis?

    2. I agree MN Steel. The events of late sound like something out of Matt Bracken book. Are these things coincidentally related to the current administration touting "rebuilding America's infrastructure"?
      I sincerely doubt it.

    3. Agreed. I doubt it as well.

  6. Coincidentally Peter makes the same points over at Bayou Renaissance Man. What good is your new minimum wage hike if gas costs 50 per cent more?

  7. Gas prices here always raise until the fourth of July and then fall again, except for last year because the demand just wasn't there. Prices haven't started rising yet, they're the same they were all winter. I expect them to start rising soon, and I suspect when people go back to the office, back into work places, they'll go even higher. Supply/demand... if you're pipeline goes down there goes your supply.

  8. Anyone claiming to be upset by anything Trump says or tweets is an effing snowflake and dupe/stooge/clueless useful idiot.

  10. $1.79/gal gas.... ah, the sweet memories of a distant past. 4 months seems an eternity doesn't it... As comrade Schwab said, I'll own nothing and be happy about it....
