Unknown is correct. Last weekend I was watching "The Siege of Firebase Gloria". Early in the film, there is a young hippie type commanding officer looking at a Playboy magazine. He shows the centerfold to the Sgt. Major. I finally found the girl in the photo and it was Cynthia. The movie's time period was just before the "Tet Offensive (Jan. 1968). Technically, the Playmate would be incorrect for the time setting, but who cares. I first searched Dec. 1967. That girl wasn't the one, but it also pulled up Cynthia Myers Miss December 1968 and that was her. I was reading somewhere that Cynthia said her breasts began to swell when she was 13 until they reached the size of 39 DD is seen in the layout. Her shoot was done in June 1968 when she was SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD, but were not published until she had turned 18.
Aaaahhhh, a little something to quell the disturbed masses. Nothing like a little (well actually not THAT little) T&A to temporarily distract one from the disordered events of the day.
My grandfather had every issue of Playboy magazine from #1 with Marilyn, up into the late 70s. These were perused by myself as a young boy when the occasion presented itself.
My mother passed away last month. In going through her estate, I went looking for the boxes containing these time capsules of fantasy. My much younger brother informed me that our mother had thrown them all out years ago, stating that she wouldn't have that "filth" under her roof. When my brother learned what she had done, he informed her of what that collection was most likely worth. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. From her then and me now.
What? You're telling me those pictures are of a high school girl? Can you imagine seeing that walking down the hall in high school? To be back in school knowing what I know now.
I'm not sure if she was in high school or not, but Wikipedia states she was 17 at the time of the shoot in June of 1968 (I graduated at 17 and didn't turn 18 till mid June).
I don't know if Hef did or did not have sex with her at 17. I know I wouldn't have let me daughter do a photo shoot like that or hang out at the Playboy mansion at 17, but Cynthia's parents were killed in a car crash when she was 4. She was raised by grandparents and various aunts and uncles. The article simply stated she was 17 at the time of the photo shoot. Playboy magazine did not release her photos until after she turned 18. She began modeling at 14 at car shows etc. She was one of the most popular playmates ever. She received tons of fan mail from American soldiers fighting in Vietnam. So much in fact, it would not fit in her apartment at the Playboy mansion. The mail had to be stashed in an outside storage building. Myers personally replied to every American soldier. She married in 1981. Her husband died of lung cancer as she did one month prior to her death at age 61.
I remember that issue!
