 Those ain't Harleys.

  1. CH-53E's. The tail rotor is tilted and produces as much lift as a Huey.

  2. They fly over my house on a regular basis, low enough to rattle the house and the rotor wash moves the trees. I love it.

  3. Being 2 miles from Tinker AFB I see those all the time along with lots of other military aircraft. B1's so low it looks like a sling shot could tag it. When they turn east above my house headed for TN and hit the fast button - that's when the windows rattle for a couple minutes.

  4. It's more fun to watch them when doing treetop insertions!

  6. We get flybys here like that from time to time. They're one use of my tax dollars that I enjoy!

Lived on the approach to Moffett NAS for a few years. Lots of helos, sub chasers, fighters and transports. But the best was NASA's U2. It'd come in engine spooling up and down, so had a quite distinctive sound. There was also the HUGE Russian transport that came through a few times.

    Ah, good times!
