      If you wanted to know the correct time it was TI 4-8900
      This was in the late 50s and early 60's
      In England, (1959-1962) we only had a dial-less phone and would tell the Operator what number we wanted, or the name of the establishment. The phone ran on six 1.5 volts batteries, they were made by Eveready and were cylindrical and tall. I just looked them up using "old batteries", they were called "Columbia dry cells".
