This has to be fake news. In 30 years of living in Florida I have never, once, seen a Canadian go over the speed limit, *OR* get closer than five car lengths to the car in front of them.
Hi Angus, when I go south of the border into New York state, I obey the speed limit. Fines in American dollars can really hurt the wallet. In Ontario most everyone drives 10kmh (6mph) over the 110kmh/68mph limit on the highway. As a rule Canadians don't tailgate, I think it's a habit we develop driving on icy roads where grip can suddenly change from not-bad to non-existent. Given that the police did not reveal the name of the offender I would bet that he is an immigrant. Some cities in Canada are so politically correct that descriptions of wanted criminals don't include their skin tone. Al_in_Ottawa
I haven't been in Canada in years. I am from California and was in Ottawa for training during snow but the snow wasn't bad until the morning I left. When I left for the airport was dark and a blizzard. I was going about 25 and people were flying pass me like I was standing still. I got to the airport and flew out fine, which surprised me. Canadians do not fear snow. Many years later I was moved to the east for business and working out of Atlanta. I had to go to Canada to do some network setup and testing across from Detroit. Again it was cold and snowing. I did not like the area well but the Canadians handle snow much better then I did and they drove faster. My experience of snow was from the mountains of California and using chains on the wheels. Driving in California through snow ends up being slow due to heavy traffic and limited routes through mountains.
Busted a move to get around some truckers deliberately hogging up the highway and I could see them flipping out in the rearview at that unauthorized wheels in the grass move, I was trying to get somewhere before they closed for the day. There where some donut molester patrols further down the road but they can eat my dust.
just one more reason to go armed everywhere you go these days. people are nuts and angry as hell. and want to take it out on anyone it seems. BTW, also carry extra magazines with you as well. I keep 2 extras with me at all times and another 3 in the truck. better to have and not need than to need and not have. dave in pa.
Did you notice that the driver and passenger put their seatbelts ON at the beginning of the segment? I haven't ridden without a seatbelt for a LONG time, it is just reflex now to put it on as soon as my butt is in the seat.
That's your business - but what about any underage passenger, like a niece, nephew, grandchild? (Sometimes you can't avoid being the "designated driver" for one or more of those)
Now you may think less of me for my thinking that Yussef and Naeem don’t exactly appear to be outstanding, hard-working immigrants, just going about their daily business driving around aimlessly in their black Mercedes, on a Wednesday afternoon, when they were suddenly picked out of the pack by a criminal, with a gun, driving a stolen truck. Me thinks that there will be more to this story before long.
Off-topic my friends I was at my church mowing today and saw my young friend Katie so I stopped and visited with her. She told me she was pregnant after difficulties getting to that point I would ask that you say a prayer for full term pregnancy and delivery of a happy, healthy baby and mom, thanking you in advance. On occasion she authors some of our weekly daily devotionals that get emailed out to us, and hers are always pretty special.

Dave in PA,
DeleteRather difficult to carry in Turd-oo's Canada-stan.
But, other then that, I'm with ya.

ReplyDeleteBeen driving 40 plus years.
DeleteNever used one.
Still going strong.
Just pay attention.
Cue the haters.

DeleteWhat a shame that it ended in an arrest. Now the citizens will just be more victimized paying for the courts and the jail.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Ram is the model of the truck, not a suggestion on how to use it.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that caught my attention it that it seems like a cop firing their gun is big news, not big news is that he missed
ReplyDeleteToo bad Canadians cannot carry guns to defend themselves.
ReplyDeleteIf you shoot them in the head after the first time, they never, ever do that again. These times are coming to your world.

ReplyDeleteMeh just a little bump drafting nascar style.

DeletePrayers for Mrs Katie and the Baby.
DeleteMay God Bless and Protect us ALL
Thank you, kindly Grumpy
DeleteYet another reason to always carry
