  1. Ah, the wonderful days of wind wings, ash trays and TorqueFlite transmissions with overdrive. Good times.
13¢ gas was just a plus.

Thanks for the camping trips, Dad. They are my best memories as a kid, 60 years later.

  2. Thank you for the video. I am in my 70's and watched people content, prosperous, happy, fulfilled, enjoying life. Open space, simple surroundings, quiet life, big American iron on the road. And I cried. I cried for my America that is no more. I am sure that the passage of time does this to every generation, but I know that I had the distinct privilege of growing up in one of the greatest times in the greatest country ever.
God bless you one and all.

  3. Simpler and great times. Could leave your car and home unlocked for the most part. Hybo

  4. I grew up in Orlando in the late 50s & 60s. If memory serves (and it might not) the one scene from Orlando was the Wigwam Motel which I believe was on US 441, otherwise known as the Orange Blossom Trail. I could be wrong seeing as how I suffer from CRS these days.

  5. We moved to CO in 1956 or 57. The scenes of the different towns and places brought back memories of those times. And of course the CARS! Do you notice how the people are dressed?

  9. That was fantastic Irish. I grew up 4 blocks from Route 66 in Okc and we always left on vacation starting there in the old sedan. With age my fondness has grown for it along with a new popularity. Not far from me is the Blue Whale and The totem pole site outside Claremore but those out west that still remain are even better.

Tried to identify the unknowns but alas they were just guesses but it was fun.

  10. The last Americans.
Before we let the Marxist start their takeover.
    May future generations forgive us…

  11. Thanks for the memories. I grew up in the 60's and 70's in the desert SW. Lots of road trips in AZ, NM, CA, CO, and TX. A couple of corrections. Both the Petrified Forest and The Jack Rabbit Ranch are in AZ, not in New Mexico. I still loved seeing all of this. We were lucky to have lived in this time period
