yesterday I bought myself a bottle of 12 year old macellan. the first in many years as I fear this shit show is going to get a lot worse. I figured if these assholes are going to burn it all down, I might as well have a drink and enjoy the show. for god's sake, these are some really stupid fuckers.
the best stuff I ever had was some stuff they sold in the PX back in the late 1970's some booze found in the desert after the war, old brit army stock. cheap too and not on the ration card either !!!!! like 5 bucks for a imp. quart they had scotch, gin and rum. the rum was very smooth and so was the scotch, never tried out the gin though. bought a case of 12 and some how over half of it got shipped home in my household goods (?) was pissed at the time because I had to go back and get some more before it sold out. was nice to see it after I got home though. dad helped himself to 2 bottles of it. the only thing that came close to it was 30 year old stuff I got as a gift, save that bottle for over 8 years and drank it after blowing out my back, that was a waste.

"Cheer up, things could be worse!"
ReplyDeleteI cheered up.
Things got worse.
A noble sentiment, to be sure.
ReplyDeleteLaphoraig 10 year after the very mellow Glenfiddich 15 year or TaKillYa, either way the ride is just as reckless as D.C.
ReplyDeleteJapanese Scotch (sounds wrong doesn't it) from Suntori like Chita or up for me or Cardrona from a small batch distillery in NZ if I feel flush.
