Twas The Night Before a Bleak Future Christmas...

I need to stop reading books and posts about TEOTWAWKI and SHTF scenarios.

I wake up in the night thinking up crap like this......

Twas the night before Christmas, not sure of the year
Not a creature was stirring, they all lived in fear.
The stockings, well tattered, hung on the wall,
The hope of St Nicholas was a dream that is all.

The children were hunkered down in their beds,
With their loaded long guns over their heads.
And mamma in her kevlar and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a short winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the grey leaded snow
Cast eerie shadows to objects below.
When, what to my night vision goggles should appear,
But a group of marauders, not seeming to fear.

With a beer bellied driver in the leading truck,
I knew in a moment it would take me some luck,
More rapid than wolves the bad guys they came,
I shouted to the family, “We Will Deliver them Pain!”

"Now Dan! Now Adam! Now Abel!, Now Eve!
Hurry  the guns, we’ll make them leave!
To the top of the roof! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house the marauder’s they came,
They wanted out stores , food, guns and grain.

And then, in a the moment, I heard many shouts
My Son with his AR, the shots rang out
As I fired my browning, tactically moving around,
I realized we might be holding our ground

They were dressed all in camo, mismatched I might say,
But their infrared signatures gave them away
The shots increased as the attackers pushed on
We got a few I could see dead on the lawn

They made one last push to get to close to do harm
We fought them back, from taking our farm
They finally gave up, realizing it was futile
We had dealt them some damage and death that was brutal

I surveyed the compound at dawns early light
We buried the bodies still doing what’s right
One of our dogs had died from a knife
He had fought to the death, he had given his life

I try to remember how it had started one day
The financial collapse killed the economy they say
Then the terrorist attacked, they were oh so skilled
Releasing the virus, millions it killed

Things started imploding the government collapsed
People forced into violence, society lapsed
It has been quite some time since the crash and decay
But there are areas of good citizens, needless to say

As time marches on with each passing day
The sun does still rise and in a certain way
Things will get better and someday we will enjoy
What was once a great country no one can destroy

So this Christmas Day, not sure of the year
We will celebrate coming this far that is clear
Someday in the future, when the story is told
People will realize that there were some that were bold

They survived the downfall and maintained what was right
They fought to survive through long days and long nights
I would like to say to all of you who are dear
Merry Christmas and Hope for a better New Year.

Busy, Busy, Busy.....

I've had alot of stuff going on recently. The days are flying by, between helping friends, and trying to finish year-end orders at work, I have been slacking a bit here at the blog. Needless to say there have been alot of interesting things that I have been reading at all the other sites so I am at least keeping up with current events. I'll be back to my usual stuff soon so keep checking back.

Here is an Awwwww pic for the morning :

How I Spent My Saturday Afternoon...

My Good friend Donny got a free hot tub from his brother-in-law.

We  drove up to Standish ME. near Sebago Lake to pick it up with his

friends snowmobile trailer. The hot tub was outside on a flat concrete pad

so we jacked it up just over 2 feet and then walked the trailer in

under it. We slowly levered it down and were on our way. Overall about a

4 and a half hour job. Tomorrow we will see about getting it into his back yard.

The Color of Money....

Green seems to be a very powerful color in its ability to ruin things.

Notes From The Road....

I had to drive up to Norway Maine this morning about 4 or so hours round trip....
  *************************************************************************

7:30 a.m.
Note to self, DO NOT walk into an Irving gas station for water and trip snacks just as the woman at the food counter is taking maple fricken danishes from the toaster oven.... The whole place smelled like a grandmother's kitchen...
( and NO I didn't buy one)

***************************************************************************
I passed THIS Truck heading up to the highway.... I felt sorry for the driver but it's a good cause.

****************************************************************************

Dear Girl texting and coming into my lane... ya I'm PISSED, thats why I am looking at you

LIKE THIS!:

THESE  are more addictive than Crack Cocaine rolled in Meth and served by naked women
being carried on a silk divan by circus midgets.....

I was listening to XM Octane's channel for some good hard rock and this song came on:
"Life Is Beautiful"

You can't quit until you try

You can't live until you die
You can't learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie

You can't breathe until you choke

You gotta laugh when you're the joke
There's nothing like a funeral to make you feel alive

Just open your eyes

Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

I know some things that you don't

I've done things that you won't
There's nothing like a trail of blood to find your way back home

I was waiting for my hearse

What came next was so much worse
It took a funeral to make me feel alive

Just open your eyes

Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

Alive...

Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

Just open your eyes

Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

Just open your eyes

Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

I DID NOT see Stephen King, He lives in Bangor Maine.

and on the way back I came upon an older Ford Taurus with Illinois license plates.
They were towing an empty car dolly that way wiggling back and forth causing the car
to vibrate side to side. As I passed by it I could see the woman driving and the man
in the passenger seat. Both of them were kinda a weaving back and forth.

I thought to myself... WTF?  you're gonna drive all the fricken way back to Illinois
like that???  Jeebus!!

Anyway I stopped at the BBQ on the way back to work and got some nice smoked
briscuit for a late lunch...YUMMY!!

Note To Self...

This will take a little bit to get to the point..

I had to deliver parts tonight to the manager of the shop I do work for.

When I got there he invited me in for a beer ( like I would say "no") . We sat for a bit shooting

the bull and talking shop. His cat was there and had a neat clip job. I guess it was a long hair that

had gotten all matted, so they gave it the "Lion " cut which I thought was neat:

I left there and stopped by my parents for 15-20 minutes to say hi, then left to get sushi:

Oh boy I sure enjoyed this:

As I drove away I cursed myself yet again.. you see, a couple of days ago I put a half dozen golf balls in the passenger door map pocket of my truck. They have been rolling back an forth at every acceleration  and deceleration and were getting on my nerves until I would tune them out..

Needless to say tomorrow morning they are definitely getting taken out unless I forget.....

I Wonder How Obama Stayed Safe All These Years?

A South African farmer has been killed by the pet hippopotamus.

I kill myself sometimes.

Sponge Bob ... is Very Popular and Shows Up in Strange Places...

Blizzard In a Mini-Van.....

A California man was stunned to see what a previous owner of his

minivan apparently left behind:

I would have to imagine someone is really stupid or is really really "PISSED"

Here's a few hints:

Hey It's Monday....

Lets start off the day with a hydraulic leak in one of the machines......

It never ends.....

BTW... be careful this hunting season... things are gettin kinda rough out there.....

OWWWW.... Clasps Hands Over Manhood....

A mother of four who admitted biting her boyfriend's scrotum during a drunken row
has been given a suspended jail term.

Maria Topp, 44, from Gateshead, attacked Martin Douglas at his Newcastle flat in February.
The 45-year-old DJ needed 19 stitches to a wound on his scrotum.

Talk about "Raw-key Mountain Oysters"..... Sheesh

Moonbat Central....

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Dozens of Harvard University students have set up tents in Harvard Yard in the shadow of the Ivy league school's founder to protest what they say is a growing wealth gap in the country and the university's perceived role in creating that inequality.

What a bunch of "USEFUL IDIOTS"

Muffy and Biff are protesting.... get a life.

Here are some things to ponder:

ISSUES

I’ve written in the past posing the question “Where do we go from here?”

This question, in it’s simplicity, asks the reader to contemplate life after the USA as we know it.

I try to be objective and even maintain a positive outlook on the country. . I really do. Try, I mean. I have 2 growing kids for Christ’s sake.

I’ve never been a negative person. Growing up, I was always taught that the sun always rises, the early bird gets the worm, Early to bed early to rise…. Etc. All positive quotations and clichés.

But, I’ve never seen my country in this condition. 50 years into the Great Society and we’re broke. I mean, yes, we heard ‘broke’ back in the 70’s, 80’s, ‘90’s and ‘00’s. But we’re seriously broke this time.

Here are some things to ponder:

BillyBob Throws Me Some Motivation....

Next wednesday is the one year blogiversary of the nsfw sometimes Feral Irishman.

I posted a few weeks back that I wanted to hit 1500 posts...

I have about 145 to go by next week.

BillyBob from  "HELL ON EARTH" sends some motivation in an email...

I still think you can make that 1500 number. 6 days left, 145 more posts. 24 posts a day, no problem!

Thanks for the confidence... now I gotta go dig up some material!

Today is the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

THANK YOU to all who have served and to those who will serve.

Look For Someone That Buys Alot of Fava Beans....

Ninth Foot Washs Up in British Columbia.."WTH?"

The remains of a foot were found encased in a sock in a hiking boot that washed up in Sasamat Lake in Port Moody over the weekend. An autopsy on Monday confirmed the remains are human.
The foot is the ninth found in southwestern B.C. in the past four years. But unlike the previous eight cases, this one was found in freshwater, not saltwater, said coroner Steve Fonseca, manager of the Identification and Disaster Response Unit for the BC Coroners Service.

We Are Doomed as a Society.... part whatever..

I stopped at McD's this morning for 2 Egg McMuffins ( I am eating low carb so I feed the english muffins to the birds at work), a bottle of water and a coffee.  The girl and the digital sign say "$8.31 at the second window".

I pull around to the window and hand her a twenty dollar bill,  a quarter, a nickle and a penny.

*whistling...........

still * whistling..........

She gave me the wrong change twice, in my favor mind you, and I finally had to explain
that $20.31 minus $8.31  was $12.00.  Don't they have that on the register?

Amazingly Transparent Media.....

Reposted  verbatim from "MrG" at My Daily Kona.. He makes some great points.

Insert Herman Cain in this formula.....

Isn't it amazing that, within only one week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade, the press found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair during the last few years?
And, they even uncovered photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc.!
Furthermore, they not only know the cause of the family fight, but they even know it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that, they know which wedge!

And, each & every day, they were able to continue to provide America with updates on Tiger's sex rehab stay, his wife's plans for divorce, as well as the dates & tournaments in which he will play.

Now, Barack Hussein Obama has been in office for two years, yet this very samepress:
· Cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors;
· Or find any of Obama's high school or college classmates;
· Or locate any of his college papers or grades;
· Or determine how he paid for both a Columbia & a Harvard education;
· Or discover which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's;
· Or even find Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.

They just can't seem to uncover any of this.
Yet, the public still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth!
I find that totally amazing, don't you?

Heard At The Homestead.....

Extra is on the TV in the other room.

The "Boss" and daughter are watching.

The "Boss" says to the TV announcer during a spot, "What about Kim Kardashian?"

To which I reply . "Who Gives a Fuck?"

I hate TV.
