He is highly decorated combat veteran and is "dyed in Gray" Southron who is a pleasure to hang with. He is well read and super intelligent. His historical library would shame a lot of small schools. Maybe if the west had just stayed out of it, let the guy's term in office expire, maybe, just maybe, the Russians would not have invaded the Crimea and the current war would not be a thing.
