I think Queenstown New Zealand. Flown in from the other direction several times. Quite a challenging airport but the place is very beautiful - one of the world's great places. A son has just moved back there so time for another visit.
Navigating the airport, putting up with TSA, and obnoxious gay flight attendants take the shine off. I'd still rather drive for three days than fly for three hours.
I as a crew chief and did a flight very much like this in a B-1B from Nellie for. Red Flag to Ellsworth AFB just below mountain top through the Rockies. A memory that will never be forgotten.
Nope, I never liked flying near mountains. The winds do strange things.

ReplyDeleteYears ago I flew over the Alps on a clear day. Outstanding.
