I remember my wife and I reclining on the carpet listening to War of the Worlds, and this song in particular....she is no longer with us, but this was a pleasant memory....thanks....
I get emotional when I listen to that song. I first heard it in October of 2001 after doing some work at the World Trade Center. It will always be linked to the 9/11 attack in my mind.
Leonard Bernstein once declared that Justin Hayward was the finest songwriter of the 20th century. I've been following the Moody Blues since 1970, and I agree completely.
Since the last original member of the Moody Blues, drummer Graeme Edge, passed away in 2021 Justin Hayward and John Lodge haven't toured as the Moody Blues anymore. They're just touring on their own, playing small venues all over. If you go see him you just might hear Forever Autumn live.
An excellent find. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI needed that this morning; thanks for the piece of goodness.

DeleteMy wife passed a year ago at 55. Many years ago she told me this was her funeral song. I'm missing her so badly it's killing me.
ReplyDeleteMy sincerest condolences Wingless.
