Great story of hard work and perseverance.

Phil had posted about his Benchtop Drill Mill and I was looking to see what was out there.

Grizzly has been around for a while. This is their story.....

  1. Pretty amazing story.
I have dealt with them before/ Fast delivery, good prices, their parts department depth is staggering and their customer service is without peer.
You can also order parts for machines with other names on them that are the same machine and are hard to find parts for.
I needed a cast iron 9 inch sanding disc for a Harbor Freight belt/disc sander that originally came with an aluminum disc and they had one in stock.
I even used their website to look up the parts.
That's another thing, they publish all of the manuals for all of their equipment on their web site. That alone is invaluable.

  2. I've used Grizzly machines and knew they were a good value. This is a very interesting guy and even though this is really just a marketing video it really was entertaining and informative. Thanks

  3. from what I have found with them is the items are better made than horror fright stuff. but still you should plan on working on whatever you buy to make the item work better. but overall, you really can't beat them for the money.
sometimes I wish I had bought a lathe from them instead of the old atlas 12 by 36 I bought used years ago.
that in itself is funny. a week after I bought the atlas, a old gear head jet 12by 24 was listed for sale. same money !
that kind of pissed me off a bit. the older jet has a larger headstock hole than the atlas does.
and it also had a steady rest and follower rest as well as both 3 and 4 jaw chucks.
sometimes life sucks. dave in pa.

  4. chinese crap, but at rational prices. Value price, quality somewhat better than that. They don't pretend to be something they are not. Step or two above Horror Fright (who are themselves improving dramatically). Don't expect American or European machine tool quality.
