The problem now is that at Lowe's or Home Depot - they would fire the employee on the spot. Lawyers made it that even pursuit of a thief is illegal, as the perp might feel offended at the implied accusation and threatened by being confronted outside the store.
Plan for the other outcome, but yeah... sure am hoping. All I want for Christmas is 100% less election fraud
