California Cops Arrest Man For Videotaping on A Public Street Then Shoot And Kill His Dog...
By Carlos Miller
In one of the most shocking videos I’ve seen since launching this blog six years, ago, Hawthorne police shot and killed a dog while arresting the dog’s owner for video recording them from a half-block away on a public sidewalk.
Several cops were standing in front of a house halfway down the block, apparently to make an arrest over the weekend, while a man walking his dog was video recording them from the corner.
A group of other citizens were recording from across the street and captured the entire exchange, including the arrest of the man and killing of his dog.

ReplyDeleteI know what I'd do....Clean the street of garbage.
But then again, there are those who say I am reactionary.
But I intend to leave this world a better, cleaner, safer place than it is now....
Whether you are breaking the law or not, cops will look for a reason to approach you, if you give them that reason. They didn't like this guy recording them and decided to pursue the issue. As they hauled off the individual, the dog felt like his owner was being attacked and responded like a loyal dog would. The cops felt the need to kill the dog. I find myself less and less on the side of the cops. I am sick of hearing stories about cops killing dogs.
ReplyDeleteI watched this video this morning, and it pissed me off all the way to the core of my being. I am retired LEO, and this makes me ashamed.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, appreciate you saying so.
DeleteWhy do you think it is, that our current LEOs behave in such manner?
I used to trust police, and feel they were there to protect us. Not any more.
They behave like a gang of thugs - and it's not "isolated incidents", as some try and claim.
It's everywhere. I've experienced it myself. What I went through changed me forever.
Any ideas why, BB?
I know some absolutely great men that are LEO's, and I know some that I wonder how they are capable of remembering to breath without constant reminder. Not sure where the train jumped the tracks, but its going to be a real bitch to get it back on.
Deletesorry. the dog went after the cops. I'dve shot it also, were I in their shoes right then.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Turtle Smasher! It's a shame there isn't a squad of dead gestapo officers lying on that street right now.
Deletemy, what cogent responses, Throw the pooch a milk-bone, maybe? The dog WAS being a loyal dog and protecting his master. Don't think the master, who as good as killed the dog himself based on what I saw in that video, deserved such a fine animal.....
DeleteOf course those officers don't carry a taser. That would have been too easy and prevented the dog from attacking.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I continue to wonder where the loyalties lay for many law enforcement officers. It's appalling to read of increasing crime, while the most visible of police presence is along the highways, collecting revenue from traffic violations.
The guy arrested has a harassment lawsuit going against the local PD. Think that had anything to do with their decision to arrest him while he's videotaping them with his dog there? (As in, "Hey, there's that asshole who's suing us for harassment. Let's harass him some more, and maybe get in some target practice.") Obviously, I can't know what was going through their minds, but given that he's half a block away, their contention that he was "interfering" with their investigation is a particularly pungent pile of bullsh*t.
ReplyDeleteNo reason to have arrested this man. Tyrants.
ReplyDeleteIve heard about this but have not read anything and this is the first time I saw the video. I hope they have to get him another rot. And dont get me wrong or take it the wrong way, but if you are goin to shoot a dog, cat, horse or whatever whether right or wrong, make it quick, humanly and as painless as possible. Watchin that dog squirm just rips me. When the time comes where I must put my loyal heeler down, I wont even have the heart to put a gun to his head, why because I have more respect and honor for that dog.
