Mornin'

Yesterday it almost made it to 70. Tomorrow 8-14 inches of snow.

Gotta love New England as we head into spring.

I've had a bunch of things going on that need some tending to so the blog and social media have taken a back seat.

I see Russia has hit the "go" button and Turdeau backtracked his little hissy fit.

My guess is the American Convoy will be hijacked for obvious reasons and the media , as always will be waving the flags for the communists that have infiltrated everything.

I'll be lurking a bit but posting is gonna be very lite, and, for the first time is a while

there will be no FFFF. Sorry about that to the fans.

When I get back to it I will make it up to you.

Life gets in the way of living sometimes.

One Of The Best Things I've Read In A While....

On his short list of people, the organization is looking to sue on his behalf, Rittenhouse said they’re “looking at quite a few politicians, celebrities, athletes, Whoopi Goldberg is on the list.”

That specific callout of Goldberg was because “[s]he called me a murderer after I was acquitted by a jury of my peers.” That also included “Cenk [Uygur] from The Young Turks, they called me a murder before a verdict and continues to call me a murderer.”

And for those who called him a “white supremacist,” Rittenhouse warned: “They’re all going to be held accountable and we’re going to handle them in a courtroom.”

One MG 42 Gunner may be responsible for over 2,000 Casualties at Omaha Beach June 6th, 1944

How did German soldiers bring enough ammo to keep up with the voracious appetites of the MG42?
Would you believe that the over 2,000 casualties of Omaha beach during the Normandy invasion were inflicted by ONE MAN? That’s right. Heinrich Severloh was manning the MG42 that decimated the American beach landings. Some estimates say he inflicted as many as 2,000 casualties by himself with a single MG42 and taking potshots with his Kar98 while it was being reloaded or awaiting more ammo. What was the rest of his unit doing? Running him ammunition. Upwards of 60 men were running boxes of ammunition all the way up to his position through the trench line.
As others have pointed out, German doctrine was all about supporting the MG. Marching in a column formation, the MG was up front on point. At the first sign of contact, he was to deploy and fire on the spot, while the rear sections of infantry advanced to support both of the gunner’s flanks. It is estimated that the volume of fire that the MG42 could produce was the equivalent of 9 squads of riflemen.
Here is Heinrich Severloh and his MG42, a name that should be synonymous with Omaha beach.

Of course most will recognize this from the movie Saving Private Ryan. I cannot imagine being on the "receiving end" of such hellish fire. My granddaddy was there and he said he'd never forget the sound of "Hitler's buzz saw".
