  3. Now go to tik Tok and look at the American women. It explains why the west is dying.

  4. That was amazing. Not just the tough working and living conditions, but at some point somebody gave her a Glasgow smile. She's had a really rough life.
Her dream is an apartment, and a lot of us would recoil from that, but my Appalachian grandmother who similarly lived her whole life with no running water and a coal stove, also thought she was in heaven when she got a trailer with running water and electric heat.

  6. That's white privilege for you. Some good man who needs a good woman needs a mail order bride with a daughter.

  7. I've visited Yakutsk during the winter months and yep, it does get a wee bit cool.

I've nothing but praise for Elana, she deserves it, but the video noting working from dawn till dusk is slightly misleading, as the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice the sun is above the horizon for only around five hours.

By the way, the coal she's heating her house with is probably delivered by one of the boats she working under, that's how it gets to most villages along the Lena River.

  8. Wait a minute. You mean she isn't banking big, big paychecks? WTH? And she has to buy her coal? She needs to demand a big raise in pay. And why doesn't her daughter help with some of the chores?

  9. American women, the tiktok kind, can't hold a candle to her.
I think if you went to farm country in the US, there are still women like that. I found mine in Pennsylvania.
Life ain't based on looks lad. It's based on mettle. Find a wife like that and you'll be just fine.

Here abouts the women are very definitely not the SeattleStarschmucksPhoneAddledSnowflakeWhiners. Farmers, ranchers, dairy workers, field hands, vineyardists, vintners, brewers, maltners, hop bine workers (yes, bines not vines), shepherds, goat herders, cattle wranglers, whew, makes me tired just thinking of them. They'd absolutely love Elena! And they'd fawn all over her daughter.

  14. I'd marry her in a millisecond, the major issue is she would kick my ass for being lazy....

  15. Magnificently strong woman, if only we had them like that here in the west. Surely her grown children could pitch in some $ here and there.

  16. I spent 10 very long winters in Minnesota back in the 70's. It was brutal but not nearly as brutal as this video. There are four seasons in MN: "Floods, Blizzards, Tornadoes and Mosquitoes." I'd guess that up there where that lady lives it's just two seasons: "Winter and then two months of bad sledding."

  17. Wonderful story, thanks appreciate you guys. Makes me remember, perseverance has done more for success than any human virtue. That lady gots it in spades.
