Willie Jones Captured..............Again!

Disclaimer: If you aren't familiar with the CDB song below, you are not going to get this bit of humor.

The only thing significant about this story is that a 40 year old cold case was solved, but in case someone would like to read it, here is the LINK. Interesting? I don't know if I was more intrigued by the fact that the murder was solved (time past/technology), or the fact that this 80 year old man was still chasing women. I suppose there is hope.

I would imagine there are at least a few CDB fans on here who will remember this tune.

  1. He got away with it for more than half his life already and since he already used up the time he should have been paying his debt to society they should just hang him this coming Monday.Seems just to me.

  3. I think that there must be more than just a few fans of CDB. From what I've heard from someone who met old Charlie and got to spend a little time with him, Charlie was a true man of the people, as we used to say.
Plus he had stories of his time on the road in his early days that were especially entertaining, shall we say.
Of course, anyone who played music on the road, even if for just a short time has their share of stories to tell.
I played races and guitar in a band that spent just about a month or so on the road, and I could tell you stories that you wouldn't believe. I think that a few of them might even be true. My twin brother played drums in a number of bands, and the stories and jokes he told me were almost as bad as the ones that I heard from my 35 plus years in a foundry.
It is really too bad that I can't tell any of them now. I remember them, I just don't dare repeat them. Even though my mom has passed away, I just know that somehow she would find a way to come back and wash my mouth out with lye soap. 😇😇😇

  6. 75''6? Charlie Daniels and Marshall Tucker were very popular. The Spirit that Charlie Daniels pushed, the America that he promoted, and the fun music he produced that went with his thinking and promotion of The America of his vision,, frikken WOW..

    1. I liked CDB and believe Charlie was a fine American. I got to see him once at the rodeo in Cheyenne, WY ('79-'80).
I always wondered why Team Trump never incorporated his song "In America" into his playlist (link below).
