I had a light car drag cam in my 427 63 galaxy with cross ram dual 4 barrels.I could afford 8 mpg, but 600 miles per set of spark plugs was expensive. My 2008 vett was much faster and got 24 mpg hwy commute. Now I drive a 2012 tundra.
Friend of mine had a 396 Chevelle SS that sounded almost exactly like that. I think it was a '68. You had to dig yourself out of the trunk when he punched it.
You knew Dave, too, huh? You could always tell when he was on his way just by the vibrations in the ground. That car shook the earth good as any tank I ever saw.
