When You Can Play The Blues At 16y.o.

 Thanks Pandora!!

Irish notes  "This is from her website which hasn't been updated from 2011. It seems she was around for a bit then just left." >>>>

Michaela Rae is a 16-year-old guitarist with a decade’s worth of playing the blues, picking up skills quickly and expertly, making her a rising star to watch on the Colorado music scene. Her debut CD, Blues with a Backbone, was released in June 2009, and showcases her “plenty solid” guitar playing (Westword). Michaela has appeared on numerous esteemed stages from the Blues From The Top Festival to the International Blues Challenge, and she’s currently working on new material for her next album. In her spare time, she races dragsters, runs track, excels in art and math, and loves being a teenage girl.

  2. Using google fu, tracked down her birth year and her full name Rae is her middle name. She seems to still live in Colorado,
Her original twitter account was created in 2012 with no posts, fecesbook and other professional accounts all go dark in 2015.

2015 she took a job and eventually got a proffessional designation. She seems to be doing well by the info i can find. No info on why she quit music but its the same lady. I wont post the info i found because no one needs to help any would be stalkers.

  4. It's what my dad called Blazz. Blues sounding Jazz.

It's not bad, it's just not The Blues.

  5. Danny Gatton and Joe Bonamassa are in that category with videos of them at young ages.

  6. Steve Winwood was close to that age when he did a cover of "Nobody Know You When You're Down and Out". I think they hype may have taken a few years of his actual age, but he was still a high schooler.
You may have listed it in an earlier post, but here it is:

  7. And she races dragsters how cool is that. Green Onions, one of my all time favorite tunes. First heard it in the movie American Graffiti one of my all time favorite movies. It plays at the end when John Milner and Bob Falfa (Harrison Ford) are headed out to the drag section outside town. Falfa's black 55 chevy (field car) solidified my love for that car. Owned one in highschool but yeah stupid sold it. Second favorite car is a (piss yellow) 32 deuce coup driven by Milner.

Michael put a good signature on that song. Will add her album to my tunes, thanks for that Irish.

  8. Became a CPA? Maybe she got a good look at how the music industry works, or had an encounter with a Harvey Weinstein-type producer who offered the "we'll put out your album after you put out for us" trade. To borrow the line from Apu in the Simpsons for CPAs instead of convenience store owner, "it's not glamorous, but it's good, honest work."
