MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Early risers driving on Interstate 93 South in Manchester
got an eyeful Sunday morning.
A Department of Transportation roadside message board was
altered overnight.
For a brief time, the lighted message showed an expletive
followed by the president's last name.
The sign wasn't up for long and it was turned away from
traffic, but it was up long enough for a WMUR viewer to notice the vulgar
message on his way to breakfast at 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
“I'm driving down the road and I'm coming to the split to go
to the mall or to go to Boston and I see the sign,” said Rick, of Hooksett. “I
can't even believe it.”
News 9 cannot show the message or describe the message, or even
abbreviate the word, but it was four letters, vulgar, and followed by the name
“Biden.”
“To me, I don't care whether you’re Republican or Democrat,
it's just like wrong on so many levels,” Rick said.
“We were notified around 6-6:30, so it was up an hour, maybe
an hour and a half,” said Richard Arcand, public information officer with the
New Hampshire DOT.
A hasty, crack-of-dawn investigation by the DOT determined
that it's a mobile traffic message board. This particular one was part of a
bridge rehab project on Huse Road that is supposed to say “shoulder closed.”
“Someone must have vandalized it to get into it. Because
it's not connected to the internet. It's a stand-alone unit that is programmed
in the field,” Arcand said.
The investigation will include the DOT construction
engineers contacting the contractor to figure out the last person responsible
for this message board.
Arcand said state police checked the area Sunday morning and
didn’t find anything suspicious.
But the short-lived vulgarity is getting reactions from
social media posts to calls into state offices and newsrooms.
“It was unbelievable, I was blown away that it was on
there,” Rick said.
If DOT officials can identify the sign vandal, charges are
likely. It's illegal to tamper with construction equipment in a work zone.
Even the reporter is sooooo dramatic in the news

Hilarious
ReplyDeleteLove how the Lefties go all "offended" over some "vulgarity" since it's been their stock in trade since the Vietnam War.
ReplyDeleteYeah, well, FUCK rick, too.
ReplyDeleteDitto. I was going to post the same thing. Rick's panties are in a wad.
DeleteYou silence and slander one side of the national discussion and then act shocked when someone reprograms an electric traffic sign? Sounds like it was Rick himself who pulled over, called the cops, then stood by to be interviewed for TV. He is probably one of those unemployed Democrat activists who spend all their time putting out political signs in election years like this. Who else would have the time to stand around and be interviewed over nothing. I mean really, we are expected to believe that the same people who are in favor of tranny story time and stripper poles for 2nd Graders are concerned about anyone being exposed to the "f" word.
ReplyDeleteWhere is all of the outrage about negroes spray painting their vulgar "thoughts" all over every wall in the country? That area of RT 101 and RT 93 is particularly hard hit by spray paint.
His feels wad hurted.

ReplyDelete“To me, I don't care whether you’re Republican or Democrat, it's just like wrong on so many levels,” Rick said."
I'd like to know if Rick is one of those people who thought the whole BLM debacle was simply "peaceful protest".
Wait 'til we really start protesting some transgressions on freedom & finance.

Rick's boyfriend won't understand why Rick is not in the mood.
ReplyDeleteLove it. The patriot truth teller will probably not be found. This is New Hampshire, not California. On Route 16 there is a full sized billboard that says "Democrats Hate You" in letters so big that you can't miss it. In spite of the liberal overflow from Massachusetts into the southern counties, most of NH is still very, very patriotic red. LGB - FJB.
ReplyDelete"If DOT officials can identify the sign vandal, charges are likely. It's illegal to tamper with construction equipment in a work zone."
ReplyDeleteYeah, put me on that jury.
One would think that with number of times this has been done to these mobile signs in the past in various places around the country, the electronics would be password protected by now, but NO!
ReplyDeleteAs to the state poopers being called in to investigate, well good luck. Vandalism? The sign is still in perfectly good working order. Too bad if they don't like the message. Maybe they should call in the Eff Bee Eye storm troopers. I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it, like they did the Bubba Wallace noose incident. Oh wait, they're too busy investigating parents for standing up to their local school boards.
Whoever did this should get a medal.

To bad they did not weld the control box that controls the message when they left.
ReplyDeleteIt's a serial port, easily accessible, and everybody and his dog knows the factory password. Plug in a laptop to the serial port, pull up PuTTY, use 9600 or 19,200 baud, one stop bit, no parity. Easy-peasy. You can get a hold of the Operators/Programmers manual on line. What did they expect?
Delete*I've* been tempted several times...
You should have posted the password and link to the operators manual here. Then everyone has it and can act accordingly. Pretty tough to pick one person out a crowd even with facial rec and since they've made going into a bank with a mask on legal, well...

We are all Spartacus!!

Igor's right, again. The manuals and passwords, and photographs if the master keys are all online and only a websearch away. There are youtube channels (or used to be) that would post nothing but sign after sign, all reprogrammed in less than 1 minute by random smartasses.
DeletePersonally, I liked the digital Burma Shave signs best of all.
They had to dispatch a reporter to the scene, Good Freaking Grief
DeleteWell it's not like they have violent crime to cover in NH. Too few of the problem demographic for that.
DeleteMore illegal free thought. Must Punish
ReplyDeleteI not sure what things are like around you, but driving around here and you will find a lot of fuck biden flags around
ReplyDeletesaw a mini van with joe biden sucks in soap on the back window in town last week.
and I got some stickers from the guy across the pump last week too. the "I did that" ones
they can do things against hanging banners and flags from overpasses , but there are a LOT of flags on private
property they can't touch. funny that the fuck joe flags are cheap too, like 5 bucks where the trump flags are 10 ?
but they applauded deniro when he said f trump on national tv. they can go f themselves. for the record i detest use of that word in public, but they brought it into the mainstream so....another brick removed from the foundation of society.
ReplyDeleteSlow news day but that's funny shit right thar.
ReplyDeleteIf given the opportunity, I would say Fuck You right to Joseph Robinette Biden's face.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would be right behind you, Phil, saying the exact same thing.
DeleteThat's it?
DeleteI'd expect a much more colorful tirade, from you.
I also hope to be there when it happened.

Get in Line....
DeleteOkay, "Fuck you, Joe Robinette Biden. Strong letter to follow" then.
DeleteRobinette Biden, JUNIOR!!!!!!!! :)
Deleteif Joseph Robinette Biden were the validly elected POTUS, I would, as a patriotic American, be highly upset
ReplyDeleteRick obviously has sand in his mangina
ReplyDeletePassed thru Hagerstown Maryland not long ago.
ReplyDeleteThats where all the “votes” came from😂😂
Hoooooooly crap, i think every damn car had a biden sticker or placard and half the homes. (Slight exageration) but damn, even the wife said something.
And there's the problem, the man thinks it's wrong. Really? Does he believe the other things going on here are wrong also?
ReplyDeleteI spent years programming electronic message boards with the message needed for traffic control. Most have factory passwords, which most don't change. Changing them may end up with a locked out board and a disgruntled employee laughing about their last day on the job.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of money to find the perpetrator is far more than any law enforcement agency is willing to spend on such a trivial matter.
So, where is a pic of the sign? I want to agree with it.
ReplyDeleteDrivers probably paid more attention to the sign than they normally do.
