PALMETTO STATE ARMORY SENDS-
There is no more ardent and outspoken supporters of your right to bear arms in the gun industry today than the folks over at Palmetto State Armory. This just came across the wire and I think it needs sharing-
Hi All,
We have done a commemorative lower for the Commonwealth of Virginia. In January they will have a Democratic controlled House, Senate, and an extremely liberal Anti-Gun governor. They have introduced legislation that will be passed in January. It will make Virginia gun laws equal to, if not harsher than California or New York. This legislation will go into affect in July.
In anticipation of this we submitted a variance to the ATF for a Virginia-15. We have the approved variance back now. I am linking to the lower below. $10 from the sale of each lower will be going to the Virginia Citizens Defense League. vcdl.org
VCDL is a grass roots pro 2A group that is fighting the state of Virginia, and helping to get “2A sanctuary” cities and counties declared, as well as working in other areas of this fight. $10 from the sale of each lower will go do VCDL to help them in their fight.
Any help you can give by promoting this lower via Affiliate would be greatly appreciated. We have sold 1400 of them in less than 24 hours. We want to continue this trend by making the lower go viral.
Thank you,
Josiah
Not only are they aiming to grab the guns, but they’re aiming to nullify the entirety of the Second Amendment through the most important part- training. If you’re in Virginia, the good news is that I’m not far away. And judging buy what I’ve seen first hand, the groups in VA need it. No time like the present.
I bought my present carry gun from the fine folks at PSA. Fantastic people, fantastic speed, just an all around great experience. This part of them helping a second amendment group is no surprise. I just love great American companies, who are trying to make America better again. And websites like this one that showcase those companies. Thanks Jeffery in Alabama, and Irish, and everyone else involved with this idea. You are all Patriots.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. pigpen51. I recently bought an AR15 pistol from PSA. They seem like fine people. This is a noble gesture on their part. Speaking of the mess in Virginia, I hope the politicos there can get their heads out of their asses, but I really only see them pushing until their agenda is "checked" by freedom loving folks. They are not in the least wise interested in reducing crime, gun safety, etc., but only about control as are all commies. I think most of us here hold near and dear pretty much the same values, sentiments, beliefs, love of liberty, etc. I think the consolidation of the citizens of the protesting counties and sheriff's show great courage and resolve to see this through. I hope no one backs down or compromises. Audemus jura nostra defendere
ReplyDeleteMay be a silly Q: do I need to have this sent to an FFL?

Not a silly Q Woodman. I hasn't been that long ago that most of) the "black rifle terms" were Greek to me. This part is the stripped lower receiver (the part the BATFE considers to be the "gun")w. It will have to be sent to a FFL holder who will transfer it to you. There are a myriad of semi-auto "parts kits" on the market. Most will include everything you need to build this lower into a functioning firearm. Good luck and Godspeed. PS: There are tons of YouTube video available that will be a big help with this type of project.
DeleteSometimes, you can find a really great deal with a completed lower, put together, with a receiver and everything, for 150$ plus shipping. That is one great price, if you find one.
DeleteSeveral months ago, when I bought my AR15 pistol it was a PSA "weekend deal" (or something to that effect"). I believe that Wirecutter had seen the ad on an Ammoland "flyer" and had posted to his site. It was advertised as the complete gun less the rear sight and a magazine for $287 (less shipping and less FFL fees). What PSA did after I paid the price in full was mail me directly the 10.5" upper at is a non-NFA item by itself. The complete pistol lower was sent to my FFL guy. I ended up paying $15 S/H for each piece. So, that was thirty bucks added onto the $287 (seems like $189 of that was for the complete upper receiver (including charging bolt handle and the bolt carrier group). So total I am $287 plus $30 S/H plus 1/2 case of Corona beer to my FFL guy for doing the transfer plus $40 for a pop up Magpul rear sight. I'm roughly $360 total into a very neat AR pistol. As I said earlier, there are several routes you can go, but this worked for me. As a note, if the lower is listed as a rifle lower it is always a rifle lower. If it is a pistol lower or "other", you can make it into a rifle carbine if you keep your barrel length and overall dimensions within the BATFE guidelines.
DeleteJeffery,
DeleteDoes that mean that you can go as long as 15.5" on the barrel, but must keep the stock the same length?
The min. length on a rife barrel is 16" I believe. The "pistol" AR I bought from PSA had a 10.5" barrel and an "arm brace". This is the kit I bought except my lower was completely assembled unlike this one that is in pieces.

To be exact, this is how I bought my AR pistol. Ken put this Ammoland/PSA promo ad up on his site August the 1st this year:

Here is the original Ammoland ad:

I haven't seen the same ad since that time.
Those were great deals, weren't they? I think the deal you got, Jeffery, is a thing of the past - we're only going to see prices rise up until Election Day if the past is any indication.
DeleteJust a point or two to clarify: As long as the firearm measures under 26 inches from the muzzle to the end of the buffer tube, it's considered a pistol. I can't recall if that measurement includes the flash suppressor, but I don't believe it does. The OAL length does NOT include your brace.
Also, if you buy a stripped lower from a gun shop, make sure the seller sells it as "Other" on the 4473 instead of Rifle or Pistol. That should be a no-brainer for him because a stripped lower is neither a rifle or a pistol, it's a lower receiver. That way, it can built either as a rifle or an AR pistol in the future.
As always, double check any advice like this so you don't get into trouble if I'm wrong or if you misinterpreted it.
I think you are correct about prices rising until after the election. Guns are still relatively inexpensive as is ammo. If there is anything along those lines that anyone needs or has been putting off buying, get those items now while they are readily available.
